When's the .308 Mossberg MVP Patrol coming to Canada?

I was thinking maybe it just wasn't meant to be slung while carried in front, but you're right - It would be really nice if it had side swivels.

Considering how well they work, why do you think they aren't just standard on everything?

Tradition, and because there's lots of people who only use the sling over their shoulder while walking out to their blind. I can't think of a single organization that keeps rifles slung and ready to shoot that still uses bottom sling mounts. Your rifle is always trying to flip around on you, which is tolerable if you don't have a magazine that extends out past the trigger guard.

MVP 308, standard mag pinned to 5, flashhider (dont think its pinned)

No thread protector, not sure if this is standard for Canada or they just forgot to put it in the box.

Can someone confirm if the MVP 7.62 is compatible with AR-10 PMAG's? The website just states that it uses AR-15 style mags.

it actually states "•Patent-pending MVP design, accepts standard AR-style magazines"
Since 5.56 is AR-15 and 7.62 is AR-10 then yes it should accept standard AR-10 mags

Considering it's called the MVP Patrol, maybe it isn't meant to be slung much, and therefore the mag protruding that far wouldn't matter.

When on patrol, you carry your rifle in front of you, in the low ready position.

I could be way off, but maybe that's what they were going for?

I think they meant patrol as in compact so it is easy to get in and out of the patrol car with it.

They can keep the MVP Patrol over on the otherside... and come and get the rest of the MVP's on our side... bought one for my son... what a piece of crap.

neat looking rifle, not my cup of tea though.

seems like it's a rifle that answers a question no one asked. "can we make a short, heavy, full sized cartridge bolt action rifle that has limited accuracy potential, but looks really cool?"... yes, yes we can.

I'm glad you like it, it looks like it'd be fun for plinking.

ps: people poo-pooing on the short radius of the sights should look at the Sako Bavarian and other euro-type rifles, they seem to be big fans of it because it lines up very fast. my Jaeger 10 has short sights just like this and I love them, but it's also a 22" barrel. (edit: the sako Bavarian isn't near a short as the Mauser M12)

I think it belongs in the BLACK GUN FORUM, not in sporting rifles..................there is nothing sporting about it, it is para military and police junk............

Although i'm not a fan of super short barrels on large CF rifles, this *would* be an awesome rifle for tight close brush hunting.

I was looking at this rifle as well
Apparently it comes in a Flex stock version as well. Of all the reviews I found online none had much info regarding accuracy. Was a definite turn off for me.
