What I find the most interesting is that the "gun" part is actually the trigger group. The frame does not have a serial number on it; only the trigger group does.
Sig has done this so that you can buy new frames/slides/barrels (without another trip to your FFL or an registration certificate and ATT) and have multiple caliber platforms all with the same "gun".
I would imaging it would be a funny sight (and a little strange) to see a pistol frame WITHOUT a trigger lock on it, but instead see the lock on a trigger group...
