Just heard from a source:

Bad News:

-The VP9 is only for the American Market and will not be available to anyone else.

Good News:

-The rest of the world will get the SFP.
-HK and FN Sport are well aware of the legal requirements for handguns in the Canadian market.
-There will be 2 variants of the SFP, One will be the SFP9 TR and the second one will be the SFP9 SF.
-The SFP9 TR will pass the technical regulations concerning trigger pulls, example for the German Police standards.
-The SFP9 SF will be the same trigger that is in the VP9 in the United States.

-The SFP9 will be available after the German summer holiday or the end of the year.
-HK plans to sell it in Canada.

No other information available at this time.

Taking a break now to drink some more HK kool-aid (I've been drinking it for years now and it's never failed me).

PS: If some not so smart person wants to shoot 4 or 5 hundred rounds through a G36 on continuous full auto fire, there might be a heat problem.
Try that with some other guns, the gas tubes melt, the hand-guards catch fire ect...ect...ect...just a few thoughts....

Not sure why that is bad news. If it is mechanically similar to VP9 it's good to go. I am guessing the SFP9 will be essentially a VP9L. Or am I mistaken on that front. I wasn't aware you were a HK guy. You learn something new every day I guess that.

Well that sucks I was looking forward to the vp9 and had cash put away for it already. How similar is this new one to the vp9? Sorry not a hk guy was hoping this would be my first.
Whats a vp9l?

Maybe I've been misunderstood. The SFP 9 is going to be nearly identical to the VP9. Don't know about the long slide or threaded barrel yet (may be an extended barrel like the P2000 guns - just enough to be legal).

I suspect this will be like the MR223 vs MR556. Very little difference really.

This is just a name change I am sure. Nothing else.
I bet it is because of some legal arrangement between HK USA and Germany, as you all might know, HK USA is not authorized to sell or distribute any HK guns or parts outside USA.

Plus I would not buy USA made HK. :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

So what are the bad news again?

:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::cool:

Bad news its HK :p good news they might have a great gun in the works

Bite your tongue! I used to like you. Lol.

The only problem I or anyone who's shot my HK45 has is the price of .45 and mags. My first HK but it's got me drinking the HKoolaid by the gallon!

If this thing comes in at a good price, is as good as the 45, and mags are available I'd dump my Glock in a heartbeat.
