A Texas teenager has animal rights activists seething this week as photos of her posing with the corpses of "big-game" animals like lions, tigers and elephants spread across the web — photos she proudly took after killing the creatures herself in an effort to become a television star.

Kendall Jones, 19, describes herself on Twitter as "a huntress, conservationist, and sportsman looking to host a TV show in 2015."

According to her Facebook fan page "Kendall Takes Wild", which currently boasts over 200,000 members, the Texas Tech University student has been hunting animals in Africa with her father since childhood.
"In 2008, (age 13) I took my second trip to Africa to start my Big 5 experience," she wrote on her page's "info" section, using a hunting term that refers to the 5 most coveted big game animals for hunters: the lion, the elephant, the leopard, the buffalo and the rhinoceros.

"The first animal I ever shot was a White Rhino with a .416 Remington!" she continued. "On this trip I also took some plains game, such as impala, kudu and mountain reedbuck home."

She goes on to describe killing elephants, cape buffalos, maned lions, leopards and hippos — all of which can be seen dead in photos next to a smiling Jones on the young hunter's Facebook page.

Jones opened her Facebook page in February, but started posting more big game hunting photos on June 7 in hopes of furthering her TV show goals according to the Daily Dot.

"The lion don't mind the opinion of a sheep," she wrote that day. "If you don't like or agree with what I am doing, then don't be on my page."

Unfortunately for Jones, it would appears as though many online don't agree with what she's doing at all.

In recent days, thousands of Facebook users from all over the world have commented on the teenager's hunting photos to condemn her actions.

"You have no right to be doing what you are doing in South Africa! This is not your country - leave our big 5 which is very treasured by South Africans and the rest of our wildlife alone, and that too all hunters!" wrote Banitta Watkins, who lives in South Africa. "What are you going to hunt when you have hunted them all? Go kill off another countries loved animals? The sorry excuse of them being a threat to humans does not fly! It is their right not yours! Bugger off and hunt your own endangered animals in your own country and put them into extinction!"

"You're trash. You hunt to kill innocent animals," wrote Lauren Shapard from Turkey. "It's not about survival to you. You are a despicable human being. I wish you the worst. There's a special place in hell for despicable human beings like you."

Others have gone so far as to call Jones a "sick bimbo," "stupid white trash," a "scumbag" and much worse. Some are uttering death threats or expressing their desire to see Jones killed.

"Praying that one of your TARGETS ends up KILLING YOU instead!!!! Pray one day SOON!!! LOSER!!" wrote Dennis Bonds of Welland, Ont.

Others online have started mobilizing against Jones using online petition sites.

Nearly 60,000 people have already signed a Change.org petition to ban Jones from entering Africa, and more than 150,000 are petitioning Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to take down her fan page on Avaaz.org.

I believe I saw an interview where Zuckerberg stated that he would only eat meat that he killed himself...

How much does one hunt cost? Mulitply that by the number of hunters, who pay whether they get an animal or not and see how much money the locals lose and end up hunting more of them for"bushmeat" since they can't afford to buy food at the local market.

x2 like cracking open the pages of "mein kampf" ... its vile and dirty !! when is the cbc gonna get defunded and we can send this socialist abortion down the sewer pipe ?

I always feel dirty after visiting the CBC website, like some of the communist will have rubbed off on me. Euch.

I had a buddy who was a CBC journalist for more than two decades... he says when you work there you have to drink the Koolade to survive... you don't smell fresh air until you get out... he is glad to be out... While I may not be thrilled about this young lady's agenda to "hunt for fame," she is clearly passionate about hunting and shooting sports... and most of us that are passionate have dreamed at one time or another about making a living doing it... more power to you little Dixie chick.

How would one go about getting on her page (or whatever it's called) for a show of support from us other hunters instead of the greenies having all the say?

Actually Hoyt, I think it's a real good thing, not sure her motive is fame, but to have a hunting show hosted by a young lady from the next generation of hunters might just be one of the best things that could happen to hunting in NA and maybe even worldwide. I guess it will all depend on how she comes off on camera, with a good producer and some good advice on language and sensitivities she could be a great advocate for hunting.

I have no problem with her aspiring to be a hunting show host... I too, think it would he a good thing... but killing animals "to catch the eye of a producer" seems... crass and flippant.

That may not be the deal at all... she may just be posting pics and journalling her hunting experiences... no different than posting pics on CGN.

No problem with guns... no problem with hunting... but trophy hunting is passé and a little on the douchie side IMO.

Ive heard the whole argument for and against this kinda thing (Joe Rogan Podcast with hunter Steve Renilla - Check it out!) and it has its good side I suppose... but nah... too douchie for me. You wanna fly half way around the world, pay 50K for a canned hunt, the animal is handpicked, old, sick and endangered, then go nuts posting it all over social media. Just seems weird.

Says the guy with zero experience...

I posted a supporting comment on her FB page... and I certainly don't find her "ugly" as a poster above suggests.

...tried to get my kids hunting...oldest daughter drew down on her first duck which was high and quartering away and dropped him...then sat and cried over it...so we went home and i sold the 20 ga. i had bought for her...wish i had a daughter like kendall...best to you!

all i can say is Please be single please be single!!!! guys gotta dream right. If what you are hunting is deemed legal i support your right to hunt it whether i would or not myself its no different then hunters defending tactical shooters right to own an AR. Its the same ppl using the same methods for gun control, divide an conquer. Here in BC they want to stop the grizzly hunt then they will try to stop all caribou hunting then they will try to stop the wolf hunts and so on and so on until we have nothing left to hunt same as with firearms guys!

My oldest daughter cried over the first fish she reeled in by herself - but she is an avid fisher to this day...and I still think I catch her getting a little misty eyed every time she catches one - just for a minute and then she proudly holds it up and insists on a picture. This spring she decided to take up archery with the goal of eventually hunting - I am already stocking up on the kleenex for deer season.
