Hey guys, I'm selling a camera and a guy from the US knows I'm into firearms. He offered to throw in a Geissele 2 stage trigger as part of the deal. Would there be any problems having him ship it here?

US export laws prohibit HIM from sending it to you I'm not sure on canadian import laws of firearms components so long as it's not full auto I don't THINK canada cares, but I know the US hates them leaving the country. On another note those are excellent triggers that's first hand experience.

It all depends on how much you want this trigger. It IS illegal for him to send it, as exporting gun parts from the USA requires permits.

You are not required to get permits to import them though, so its not really YOU who is committing any offense, you just might not ever see it.

And giving advice to break the law is against forum rules.
If you don't want the potential hassles to either you or the other party buy it from Brownells and fill out the forms or wait for Arms East to get more in stock.

Order it from Brownell's, no End User Form required to be filled out either. The SSA is $210 and the SSAE is $230. There's even a 7.5% discount code FRK right now. Way cheaper than buying from Arms East and you don't have to wait forever for them to get them stock.

I just bought one from brownells and I WAS required to fill out an end user statement.

I bought the SSAE and no End User Statement was required. Received it about 3 weeks ago. Didn't get bit with Customs either.

Not really looking to order one. The guy buying my camera was willing to throw in the trigger as an extra. He was also willing to throw in Pmags, sights, etc. :(

He can't ship it to Canada.

I know. Hence the sadface :p

I have another question now. He just offered to send me a full auto BCM bolt carrier group. I'm pretty sure full auto BCG is okay in Canada, right? But can he ship that to me? I'm guessing he can't...

No firearms parts are going to be ok. Have you been hiding under a rock since 2011 when you joined here? Head over to the legaleze section I'm sure there is a sticky over there on ITAR regs.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't paid a lot of attention to these kinds of things. I'll be sure to check out the sticky.

What a pain though. This guy is offering me lots of cool things that I can't accept :(

Most of those items can be easily imported through dealers, it's the private citizen thing that is the issue. Best bet would be to just get the cash for whatever he is trying to buy from you.

That's weird. I got the Gieselle rapid fire trigger, maybe that's why?

That is weird...I called Brownells and asked about having the SSA or the SSA-E shipped to Canada, and they told me that all of the export paperwork would be required to purchase either trigger. Basically, any gun parts totalling more than $100 USD would require export approval from the US government.

^^ This. Just a simple End User form has to be filled out and emailed back to them. I've had to do this for every +$100 purchase I've done with them since the bump to $500.

Yep, I bought my SSA from Brownells actually. Smooth as butter, the form takes literally one minute to fill out. It's not complicated at all.

Absolutely required to fill out the end user statement on orders over 100$. I ordered an SSA-E from the US not long ago, the paper work was easy. customs in canada took >week on it tho. And a nice hefty import fee when i got it. If you are looking to buy one, the price of getting them in canada isn't any more expensive than bringing one in from the USA.
