Henry lever .22 standard model.

I took it to the range this morning and I am totally pleased. The trigger is very decent, the action performed flawlessly (no rapid fire), and the accuracy is very acceptable. I concur with BCRider that the big loop could beat up one's hands if consistently rapid-firing, but for plinking and hunting applications I don't see it being a big deal.
 
Well, it not even that. Just being able to buy parts would be nice. Was even looking at the custom brass plate to make mine stand out.
 
I've avoided any reply since my last one because I'm SEROIUSLY envious of small gamer's wood.... stocks.... :D

That's a one in a thousand you got there SG. VERY nicely figured stocks on that puppy.

As for the rifle's performance I'd expect nothing less. I doubt that any Henry lever rimfire is going to beat out the masses at a bench rest match. But for just about any other application they do darn fine.
 
I bought an H001 a few months ago at a great price from a CT store. Love the rifle but...
Sloppy fore stock - temporary fix with some thin soft rubber inserted between mag tube and wood. Will work on a more satisfactory fix.
Sights horribly off target. Haven't bothered to remedy it yet, in fact not really worried, the rifle is just so nice to handle.
Anyway, having found a soft spot for the little Henry, I couldn't resist buying a Mares leg to join it. No slop in that fore-stock but shoots even worse than the H001. ~12" left of target at 25 yards!
On closer examination of them side by side I realized both fore-sights canted to the right. Sighting from the front of the barrels, the mag tube is directly in line below the barrel, but the plastic (yuck) sights are both distorted and will not centre. There is no adjustment. I'm going to take a photo and email it to Henry for their comments.
However in conclusion: fixing the sights is not a show stopper, and what with my aging eyes, I need to go the peep route or glass nowadays anyway.
These are superb little rifles, and a pleasure to shoot. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Oh, and they are both dressed with the appropriate leather thongs now also ;)

I can't comment on the stock sights. One of the previous owners installed hi-viz sights and they are great for these aging eyes. It was shooting about one inch to the right at 25 yards so a little tap with a wee hammer and a brass drift and it was spot on. As you said, a superb little rifle.
 
I bought my henry mare's leg a while back and have put about 2000 rounds through it so far. Its been a great little gun, accurate enough. I bought it for a small game gun and plinker. Put on a little tasco red dot and a sling. I can walk around with it everywhere. Should be a nice light and accurate enough partridge gun come fall.

I just got my Henry .22 last week. Took it out yesterday and put over 300 rounds thru it. Totally awesome rifle. Worked flawlessly. BEAUTIFUL rifle and it won't be the last Henry I buy!!

Congrats.. I have to agree my Frontier took it's maiden voyage to the range yesterday after sights were setup it was very accurate at 20 & 50 yards..

Comments from wife was it cycled "smooth as silk and was surprised how much fun it was to shoot".
 
I owned a Henry 22LR Youth Carbine for over 7 years and I loved it and never had a issue with it ( 2000rds various types of ammo ) Unfortunately I wanted a Ruger and traded it, Now that gun went back to the original owner because I guess Henry are just that good. I never had any play in the forearm. Only issue I had with mine is the painted finish, It chipped. But the outer cover is alum.

If you make speed loaders, I made a DIY in the rimfire section makes shooting tube fed much fun, because cut down in the time loading the tube 1 by 1.

Ha! Ya, I know how that goes...just giving you a bit of a ribbing...I like the traditional look on a lever so expressing my bias...I have to shoot at "big things" with mine so that I don't miss so badly :(
 
…Old eyes? Don't you guys wear corrective lenses/glasses? Get yourself a nice set of Skinner peeps…scopes on levers are just wrong:)
