Thanks to my local LEO!

We rent My club's range to the city cops - one contractual part of the agreement is that they can't pick brass.
Our members have no shortage of 9mm and 223 and even collect a lot of good ammo boxes out of the trash cans.
I don't hear any complaints.

I used to plan a range day if I heard the new world order foot soldiers were gonna be there, I have thousands of once fired .40 s&w

I agree, leave the brass for the reloaders. I have no issues picking up any brass left behind. Especially 45 ACP and 223. A lot of people don't really think its a big deal to leave their brass around because they have no idea what its worth. Oh well, more for us!

Very true.....just like picking up free cash laying on the ground .

Yep, gotta love the slob shooters sometimes. Still a #### move to not clean up after themselves. Glad you profitted from it at least.

UM, some times LE Departments make deals with the range so that they don't have to pick up their brass, so not so much of a #### move by slob shooters.

This was the policy of many ranges I"ve shot on when on courses.

FYI.

In all honesty guys... us taxpayers are paying for their time. As long as the range doesn't mind the brass left behind, I would prefer to not have to pay them to pick up brass. If the range is an indoor range where it's regularly swept, I could see having them clean up. For outdoor ranges, like Silverdale, leave the brass for those who would like to pick it up. I heard rumour that someone connected to Silverdale was collecting brass and selling it which may have contributed to the opinion that you couldn't take "other" brass. I don't know if this is true or not but I personally have never had issues picking brass. Full disclosure: I have never picked brass from any of the rifle ranges.

Just gonna post something similar. Hate when people assume the worst all the time.

My club has a deal with the Ont. Prov. Police that we pick up their brass after their rental days. We sell the reclaimed brass and have used the funds to completely cover our outdoor pistol range with screen matting.

The range that we rent for qualifications asked that we leave our brass on the ground so their members could pick it up for reloading. We picked it up and sorted it for them and left it in buckets so they wouldn't have to. They now ask us when we are coming back ...

Talk about getting Brownie points with the locals! (But aren't you guys only normally given one 50 rd. box each for quals. anyway?:p)

As I recall from my windfall with the CBSA, they didn't leave anything lying around; it was all in the buckets. Mind you, the amount they went through would have posed a serious danger to pedestrian traffic. There were many empty cartons (10 x 50 rnd. boxes) of Winchester white box 9mm in the garbage bins.

:)
