Colt Canada rifles to the public?

Oh and don't drag the Norinco owners into this, at least they don't compare their Rifles with the second coming of Christ to justify the cost.

LMFAO!! I have a painted one and its always very famous at the range. They see the targets and then they ask what brand is it? I say it and I get that NO ####ING WAY face all the time! hahaha

in agreement, my norinco outperforms my Armalite all day every day.

Hit me up next time you head up to Valcatraz, I'll sign for Ortona range and we'll see what that thing is made of!

This is great news. I don't like the short barreled AR's and I was having a hell of a time trying to find an M-16 style AR. Now I don't have to look. I can just buy a C7. Made in Canada too. I'm so happy that our once dead Canadian gun industry is not kicking off like crazy. Our own manufactures and product engineers. Might be asking too much but Id love to see ARs made non-restricted.

Uh, no.
I have an SR-15 and while it does offer features a C7/C8 doesn't, there is no way I would claim it is a better rifle overall.

I would claim (and believe) that my SR-15 is not only better, but out of the realm of comparison to a Colt Canada. The Colt Canada is a milpec rifle with a good barrel. That's all. It isn't magical, It doesn't have fairy dust sprinkled on it during assembly, nothing like that at all!
This is not to condemn with faint praise. I think the Colt Canada rifles will be good units. But they don't have nearly as many innovative features as the SR-15.
Heck, my SR-15 is COVERED in fairy dust!

I would take a SR15 over a C7/C8 any day of the week.

I am not affiliated with IRG in any way. Just proving to Mr Knowitall about pricing.

I myself would love to have one also , but the price is high for what your getting. It's not about money , it's about the best bang for your buck. I recently bought a LMT gas piston from the states and had IRG import it for me. Landed to my door it cost me just under $2100. Still below the colts and not to mention that with the spare change I dressed it up nice. I've got the scratch to own one of each but in my opinion I would not pay more than $1700-1800 for them considering they are made here.

Possibly. I honestly don't know, or care. The point is that the SR-15 ALSO includes a KAC URX free float hand guard, a SOPMOD stock, ambi bolt catch, ambi mag release, radiuses bolt lugs, a really nice 2 stage trigger, need I go on?
The Colt Canada has a good barrel and that's all. Please note that I am not dissing the Colt Canada rifles. I am simply saying they should be less money. They are charging us a premium simply because they feel they can get away with it.

Shooting competitions seem inevitable. Someone throw in Lever's C7 type for giggles.

You mean their 20" Norc?

I was almost tempted to get one because I've got their 14.5", had it for years, and it shoots just fine, but with the deal from IRG, it'st just a couple of hundred bucks more for a Colt so I'll wait out until they get more in stock. I missed out on the deals on the FDE ones, and I also missed out on their Colt AR15A4 by just a few minutes.

Yeah that's it, a crappy Chinese barrel up against one of the best barrels in the business, not to mention true Mil-Spec tolerances...

Yes, because you need mil spec tolerances on the range shooting paper targets.
There are tons of Ar15 out there with true mil spec tolerances with cheaper price tags.

There are also outstanding rifles that are not milspec, because their manufacturers have no reason to make them milspec.
These CC rifles are excellent; time will tell how retail prices evolve.
There are also additional models in the works.

Comparisons to DD rifles or the KAC SR-15 are not a good example - neither of those brands have thousands of AR15/M4 style rifles in the hands of Canadian and Allied SOF with extensive combat experience

Both DD and KAC build good products but let's keep everything in perspective here - comparing CC/Diemaco to DD or KAC in the AR15 realm is not a good comparison ; when the British SAS switch to either of those brands away from Diemaco get back to me - until then let's keep it real

Who cares what SAS buy anymore. Unless it's Austrailian SASR then I will consider it myself. I DARE with KAC and all win with that.

That being said it's to expensive for too little. Especially made and distributed in Canada. It's absurd. In my opinion. Is there barrel really worth that much in the Canadian market. ? What's so special about there AR anymore. It's not like it's an HK or something. I would rather get a COLT from the US for half the price. No disrespect. If you got the money and really want it go for it! I think it's more for nostalgic purposes but it's not being offered in classic C7a1 anyway.

Sorry just not seeing. I'm really disappointed in there offering overall.

Lets keep it in Perspective. They have No Choice. If they did.....They would be carrying a DD or KAC

How much money does Colt spend to secure these contracts. ? More than others are willing I bet

So you state a Chinese made AR shoots as good as the Colt Canada C7, then when I call you out on it you say the above. WTF...
I would definitely prefer to be paying for an AR rifle that has under gone strict adherence to exacting tolerances and build specifics over just any old company assembling an AR willy nilly. Colt Canada is offering true Mil-Spec, what I don't agree with is how much they are charging for their Civvy models.
If you think there are many AR's out their with real Mil-Spec tolerances that civilians can buy you're kidding yourself, cause unless it's been built under military contract it isn't true Mil-Spec.
