Problem with Ruger SR1911 front sight

UPDATE
Like M. Barette said, i sent the slide to Location Snapshot and they replace the sight with a new model, very similar but different. The slide was there about 1 week befor i get it back, witch is more than reasonable for gun service in Canada. Overall i was very pleased with the service from Ruger and Snapshot.

A front sight is a very small problem to detour you from ever owning another ruger, or sr1911. Besides the front sight, the sr1911 is an amazing firearm with great accuracy and a real nice look that always receives compliments at the range. For the price one of the best 1911's.

I would have to disagree. I have fired 2 different SR1911's and I am not impressed. Failure to feeds, failure to extracts quite often. My buddy's front sight snapped off as well. If this is happening to almost every SR1911 produced and it hasn't been remedied at the factory by now something is wrong. I owned a spartan that was a spot on reliable gun for a few hundred more. Rugers 10/22 and mkII/mkIII models are the only solid guns Ruger makes any more as far as I'm concerned.

Mine lasted for bout. 1000rounds. I sent to snapshot and ive got bout 250 through it, no problem,as far as feeding and ejecting, it works flawless

:needPics: Are they still "Novak cut dovetails"?

I have one with couple thousands rounds in it. Front sight snapped as well, quickly replaced by Location Snapshot.
Funny thing about it. The only 2 failures were in someone's else hand.
Not sure why a pistol wouldn't behave when not hold properly but it's not the first time I heard it.

Mine rattles a lot but accuracy is still pretty good. Overall, I'm very pleased with the SR1911...

I'm no stranger to a 1911 nor .45. It's not limp wristing, its not improper technique. I'm pretty sure the one my good friend has is a lemon. You can't get through a mag (Chip mags and STI mags) without some sort of primary failure.
