Got out again!!! Checked and there was no rust from the first time...so success.... (but upon cleaning it this time I did noticed a bit of the bolt has a bit of rust. Must have missed a part the first time)
Anyways had an interesting time... here is the setup:
First group:
Shot with Polish Mesko Steel Case
I was actually proud of this group (and unfortunately it is best of the day), 9/10 on the paper, 6ish inches across. The target is 110 ish yards away so 6moa...not bad I guess.
Second group:
Shot with brass cased ...bulgarian? I can't remember. Bought a case at cabelas when they were on sale for $219.99. Great price! But it shoots to the right!!! What the heck?? 8/10 on the paper and they were all to right.
So I figured I would put up two side by side (aiming for blue dot)
Quite a bit to the right....
The wind was picking up so I figured it might be due to that?? So I fired some of the steel cased stuff at the right side target (aiming at blue dot, green dots are previous holes, ignore black dot...stupid photobucket)
Ok so left and right (windage you experts call it correct??) is dead on...but now steel cased is shooting high?? Wtf?? (thoughts: on some of my good groups I pulled the trigger faster because if I pulled slow I started swaying before it released...making me more inaccurate as opposed to when I quickly pulled the trigger while the crosshairs were centered on the target, so pulling may have brought the group down a bit??? I dunno. On this group I pulled slowly I believe, may cause higher group?? Who knows. Only 3/5 on target and all high, I am guessing the other two were above)
So again I shot at the target (aim at blue dot) and this is what happened...only three outta five on the target...and in the upper left...weird. So I said frig it and shot at the gong...that is 400+ yards away (in yellow dot area) there is a...maybe 4 foot square and above that there is a 1 foot square
Didn't know where to aim and the wind was getting pretty stiff...tried about 25 shots (15 brass cased and 10 steel cased...maybe other way around) at the gong with multiple aim points...thought I saw one hit the ground so I would correct a bit...didn't know where to aim really at all...BUT!!! I hit the small gong once!! (by accident...I was aiming at the big one) It was the greatest feeling in the world, I think that is the moment I became hooked on long range shooting...great...now I need to get a bolt action with a high power scope....
Anyways...there is my interested day out with the sks part two..
