non-restricted S&W M&P15-22 rifle ???

Yesterday I was at my local outfitter looking for handguns. The employee explained that they don't have their license to sell restricted firearms. but I noticed they have a MP15-22 rifle for sale. So I asked if its restricted, and they said no? I explained that they are restricted, but he rebutted by saying they couldnt get it if it was restricted ?????? Its got a pinned stock and no flash hider? Anyone know about this?
 
I'm guessing they got it sent by mistake. All my Google fu could tell me is that it was restricted. No references to a nr at all.
 
The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 is restricted. I just so happened to have looked at one this morning (Sunday) at Wholesale Sports in Edmonton. It was locked up, marked as restricted with their handguns. And the mags are maxxed/pinned at 10 rounds.

Every so often a restricted gun will get through the import and registration process, like the recent batch of the Kel Tec SU-16FX or whatnot that were sold as NR but actually had Restricted length barrels.

Ignorance of the law is not a great defence. Best case it gets confiscated, worst all your guns do and your license. Charges would be the same as getting caught hunting with a handgun...
