Don't own either but I've shot both. I'd buy the G4 Glock if I had to pick one or the other. Better stock trigger IMO, and fills my hand better.

I found that the M&P 9mm fit my hand better but I could aquire the sights on the glock faster. The trigger was terrible on the M&P. Overall I'd choose a Gen3 Glock 17. I'm not sold on the Gen4s yet, although I have shot them with zero malfuntions.

I just traded off my Gen 4 Glock 17 for an M&P 9 range kit a few weeks ago. Nothing wrong with the Glock but the M&P fit me much better plus I have the M&P 22 which matches with the 9. I really like the M&P pistols

Cheers!!

I don't know that one is "better" than the other.
Both are fine shooters.
Really, it is a matter of personal preference.
It would be best to try both, then decide.

Ergonomics, more common pointing grip angle, price. Things the glock in its current design will never have over the m&p. everything else is a wash and depends on the shooter IMO. Trigger argument is irrelevant. You can get apex stuff which brings the price up in line with the glock and is much better than any glock trigger when done. Or just do a DIY job for cheaper and it fixes all problems with the mushy gritty trigger syndrome. They're both great at what they do.

There should be a 3rd option.

Seeing as the question is which of these two pistols is more popular here in CGN, I don't see how there could possibly be a third option. ;)

Oh, and for me it is the M&P. I've owned several of both and I just can't seem to shoot a Glock. The M&P fits my hand shape better than any pistol I have ever owned with the exception of the HK P30. That thing was beyond amazing but I couldn't get past the crappy HK trigger.

I also prefer the M&P to the Glock. I am more accurate with it and just have a tighter grouping overall. I also feel that the fit in my hand is superior.

I have both and the M&P is my favourite by a country mile. The Glock architecture is too unique and as a result if you want to shoot a Glock well you really have to leave all others alone. The Glock is reliable and well made no doubt but it would be the first of my 4 9 mms to go if I had to thin the herd. The CZ Shadow and STI Trojan are solid but the M&P asks for nothing, costs the least. and knocks out on target rounds as often as you can pull the trigger.
