McMillan Tactical A4 styled stock for Ruger 10/22?

Hi,

I have a custom built Ruger 10/22. She's been sitting in a Hogue Overmolded stock for some time now, and i would like to get a stock that resembles that of the M40 USMC sniper rifle McMillan Tactical A4 stock (pictured below). Unfortunately McMillan stocks are ridiculously expensive! I believe Boyds may make a similar stock for the 10/22. If anyone knows of a Canadian dealer that carries a similar stock for a reasonable price (i'd rather not pay over $250) please let me know.

Thanks.

M40A3 rifle (my favorite!)

Boyds does make one, called the Tacticool line of stocks. But...they are banned from export from the USA for about 3 years now. It's basically a $99 stock, but since they are popular, banned and in short supply, they go for anywhere between $230-350 Canadian here.

Honestly, I think it would be easier for you to make your own, maybe mould a real stock like that, and then fibreglass the new one from the mould. Or get someone to carve it out of wood.

Know anyone that carries tacticool stocks by Boyds? I have looked into those, but cannot find anyone that sells them in Canada. And i have no feckin idea why they would not allow those to be exported/imported!

No one really carried them here because Boyds was good with quick shipping to Canuck customers, and had low prices. Dealers here would charge more than direct from them.

Due to regulations intended to keep sensitive military gear out of the hands of terrorists and rogue nations, a list of items banned or restricted from export was created. Originally intended to keep things like night vision scopes, suppressors, and such from export to questionable countries...It's my belief that Hillarly Clinton (because she was in charge of the DSS the agency maintaining the list), she instructed others to go hog wild in adding things to the list...

..."gun control by other means". Which really is one of their stated goals.

There is no practical reason for banning these. They just wanted to.
