Anyone on here involved with this match on Saturday?

I tried to email match@btsa.ca but it's not working.

I'd like to know if there is room for me to head down there with 2 or 3 guns to run. :D

BTSA: Steel Challenge
All Day Event: Jul 12, 2014

The BTSA will be having Steel Challenge Matches at the Homestead Action Ranges. Register for this match at the range.

BTSA Membership Fees
$10.00 for the primary BTSA adult
$10.00 each for 2nd gun
$5.00 for minor children and spouse for first gun
Free- with BTSA Match Card for the family or single

Without a BTSA Membership ~ Fees
$20.00 for the primary Non BTSA adult
$20.00 each for 2nd gun the primary Non BTSA adult
$5.00 each for child and spouse Limit is one spouse
Free- with BTSA Match Card for the family or single

This match will be limited to 5 guns per competitor. Please add your comments of which additional guns you are adding also submit the additional funds. Rim fire rifles will be allowed as a class in this match, no magnums .22 LR only.

8 steel stages to shoot, with 4-5 in the morning and the remainder in the afternoon. Shooters to be at the range for 8:30 AM. Shooting starts at 9:00 AM. Squadding will be posted at the range.

5 magazines or speed-loaders for their guns to help speed up the competition. If you need equipment please contact match@btsa.ca and we will see what we can do for you

The BTSA will be having a Steel Challenge Match at the Homestead Action Ranges

Steel rocks! Not only is it fun, it is also a fantastic way to learn about your shooting and to increase your shooting skills. It is great for ages 6 to 96 ~ beginning shooters, young shooters, older shooters that need a little trigger time. Steel matches are family friendly and, unlike many shooting sports, it is entertaining for spectators. Speed is everything. The steel is reactive (you can hear it ring when you hit it). There is no real need for reloading on the clock. There is little (if any) movement. It can be shot with a .22 caliber Long Rifle handgun or rifle. For the experienced shooter, the challenge to get lower scores never ends. Steel is also "gun friendly". There are never more than five shots required at once. That means most revolvers will have spare rounds. As long as the shooter understands and follows the four rules of gun safety, they can join us. Hopefully, you'll find it as addictively fun as the rest of us do. Come on out and join in the fun with your gun!!!

Short Notes on Steel:

  • Shooter will engage an array of steel targets (various size and distance).
  • This array of targets is called a stage.
  • There are usually 8 stages in a match.
  • The shooter gets 5 chances (runs) at each stage.
  • The slowest run on each stage is discarded. The best 4 runs count for score.
  • Only one stage has movement, Outer Limits. You only move 6 feet and you shoot this stage 4 times. The best 3 runs count for score.
  • Targets will be between 7 and 40 yards in distance.
  • Reloads are not required. There is little movement required.
  • You will usually need 200 rounds of ammo (that is a minimum, bring more).
  • Revolvers and semi-autos are welcome, in center-fire calibers from 9mm/ 38 and up to 45.
  • Center fire divisions are Open Auto, Limited Auto, Open Revolver, and Limited Revolver.
  • Rim-fire Divisions are Open and Limited.
  • Holsters are used for center-fire, however, if you don't have one, we can place you in a separate category.
  • No holsters are required for rim-fire.
  • Allot of shooters shoot through the stages once center-fire, and then once rim-fire. Pistol caliber rifles are welcome.
  • This week-end BTSA Juniors shoot for free. BTSA Women shoot for free. Match starts when setup is complete. Setup starts at 8:30. This match is produced by volunteers - please help with setup and tear-down when you can.
