Japanese Winchesters Any Good?

Some models are starting to look like the yoga girls with poetic verses tattooed all over the place. Someone posted a pic of a highwall that looked like a newspaper.

I have one. Put it through 4 years of hard work and over 1000 rounds of 44 mag. Never even cleaned it yet and it's running strong as ever

I love my Miroku/Winchester 1873 in .357 as the fit & finish are super nice. Excellent machining and blueing.
Shoots great with cast boolit handloads. I got mine from Elwood Epps.:)

Dang that's nice....
The few Miroku made firearms I've handled have all been excellent quality. Haven't had the chance to shoot a new Winchester, but the fit and finish looks way better than the end of run production coming out of the US plant a few years back. Some of those were truly awful guns.

Horrid safety! Address that and we have a winner.

True, it's dumbass, lawyer crap to add an extra safety to a lever gun that already has a good half #### safety.
Because Winchester is based in the US, Miruko has to add this extra feature along with all the safety BS stamped on the barrel.

Now, for folks that want authentic type Winchester lever guns without any added crap that are of equal quality,
look to Pedersoli. These folks provide the same quality as Miroku and with better grade walnut stocks as well.:)

This one is my Pedersoli 86/71 in .45-70 which is well above Uberti and Chiappa in terms of quality in the same
price range...Fair dinkum.
