brand new M305 slam fire

^^^ Trust Thomas... He knows these rifles in and out...

Sorry I just find it hard to believe to trust someone who says no it cant, then yes it can. Then don't listen to internet advice. Just makes ya sound full of your self. There my semi CGN insult. Sounds almost like a politician.

^^^ Trust Thomas... He knows these rifles in and out...

Agreed. When one of the foremost experts on this platform in the country gives you his advice, you would do well to heed it... And like he said, why #### around with the thing? It's a new rifle, take it back.

Edit: also, read the first post. This guy called ANOTHER gunsmith, and got the same advice... If 2 doctors tell you your arm is broken, you don't usually go on the internet looking for someone to say "it's probably just dirty...".

I will point out that most posters I am sure can say they have no clue who you are, except for self proclamation of been an expert, you should be well known with all the list of stuff you have done hell I have may have heard of you.

But just so you know to newbs like me when you hear people chanting about how good they are it really begs the question, who are you trying to convince?

Why not tell us where you work, then we can all take our stuff there.

If not then it would seem you are hiding behind internet anonymity.

Why not open a shop and capitalize on your vast knowledge of all things Norinco

Oh boy.
No one in this entire thread should feel that they have stepped on my toes. Please accept the sarcasm in my posts.

I guess me thinkin that I had some kinda rockstar status, household name status around here was really just my insecure delusions LOL

My general history , I started out here as 45acpking years ago. I came to the site with a advanced hobby level riflesmith's skills with the m14 specifically. Mentored by several canadian guys and several american guys.
I started offering clinics in surrey in my home in 2007. These were monthly and "sold out" crowds everytime. I also am damn handy making things and started producing customs stocks and usgi modstocks.
Fast forward to 2009 when I was put in a position to delete my EE add for stocks or become a CGN dealer.... So I did. That dealer account was M14Doctor. I operated as a full service M14 M1A riflesmith for ALL availlable models including springfield, LRB and yes, a great may chinese rifles.
During my time as a dealer on CGN I mothballed my original user name and ONLY posted as M14Doctor. I operated as ICR in the outside world. Riflesmith / custom stock maker.

When I chose to retire from the firearms business endeavors, I retired the M14Doctor user name and went back to my original user name 45acpking.

Anyhow, I didn't mean to spur debate. These days there's a great many of us CGN guys with the experience to "keep helpin the noobs" as barney likes to put it. This is great, and I will take credit for the posts I have made that so many have benefitted from.

Anyhow, #### swingin, pisssin contests that force us all to lay are credentials on the table or fack off is not what I'm lingering around here for.
I WILL wade in when I feel a potential safety concern should be dealt with the simplest mosst efficient way. OR when I feel that the advice given by others disagrees with what I know to be true.

For those who still have it stuck in their minds that I post here to balloon my ego and I think I walk on clouds, have seriously got it wrong.

Anyhow.... I am gonna crack a corona, stuff in a lime. Have a shot of edleberry over ice and day dream the rest of my day away in this +37 beautiful day ;)
Cheers fellas

Dear lord, talk about much ado about nothing.

All I know is that if I didn't take 45ACPKINGs advice, I'd be sitting on a expensive pile of useless/unsafe m14 goodies, instead of having the (safe) rifle I wanted.

Field strip the bolt from the receiver, try shaking it back and forth lengthwise. Does the firing pin move freely?
If it doesn't, there *is* a problem. Clean the firing pin channel and try again.

45ACPKING is the man...

30 Degrees and Im still drinking coffee...I had no idea who you were ( trust Barney He was the last to touch my M1A before it went ) just came off as hiding something. I deal with engines, not guns ( well I just shoot the crap out of them now ) so I take the WHY it does it approach. But who knows. Good old CGN days of #### shows. Kinda expected the try cleaning it first ( who knows if he did ) and if not then return it, doesn't hurt. But god knows where the original poster is. Prolly scared to ask anymore questions.

NO hurt feelings here.

Sorry I missed all the posting.

My apologies to 45ACPKING

all your underlings have come to your defence.

But your explanation is Gold.

Of course I had no Idea, however you need to keep your wits about you.

Anyhow I know where to point all my M14 questions.

Please accept my apologies

Cheers

I guess his mere days on the Forum, and 33 posts has taught him a a fair bunch! NOT!!!

Ya after all the years of the interweb being around I guess I thought I would try here first for the very first time ever to participate.

Because with all the other ways to learn in this world I know CGN will be the purveyor of all knowledge.

And I can tell by your timely post that your full of "knowledge"

Nothing but GOLDEN.

I guess the term Wally is really true.

Sorry what dealership was it in Sask I should buy my Chevy?

Oh ya not your Dealership.

No worries my friends
In the end we are all here to have good safe fun and help each other out. My motivation for all my advice given over the years.

Just for everyones benefit I will elaborate as to why I immediately said "return it" and not hmmmm we can help you fix that.
With a stuck firing pin I would have expected a slam fire while chambering the first round. It's happened to me. Punctured primer on south african ball and jammed pin on last round. Chambered round from fresh mag and boom!
Everything okay, clear the rifle... Hammer is locked in the hammer hooks

So, because the OP loaded the first round and the problem occured on the trigger pull then continued to fire.... I would immediately suspect something is not right with A) safety bridge, B)trigger group and lastly C) a bolt/firing pin issue.
Given it could be any of these three things, brand new rifle, the best advice I could give is send it back :D

Cheers guys and no worries all around.

Yep I thought it was good advice, I agree with it, I was trying to help out that's all.

I would have returned as well, infact I have an issue with a .17hmr right now, misfires but big primer strikes, I have to go to the Club again tomorrow with some different ammo to iron out the issue.

Anyway Bros.

no hard feelings and I will chat with you another time ;)

From one brother to another brother from another mother.

Your all good in my books.

Thomas, hang in there man, you are one of the few consistencies rarely found in internet forums from year to year. So much to learn,... so little time. I still shoot my Nork Battle Rifle, ..but find I'm even reading the forums less and the EE more.

You've seen lot's of new forum poster's(not meaning new or inexperienced riflemen we know that) full of piss and vinegar. Most sincerely trying to right all the wrongs in the Gun world, and with time and patience from experienced gentlemen like yourself who maintains an even strain and understands youthful fervor, that they all will find their place in the Battle Rifle community and it usually turns into a positive addition and a broader experience going forward for everyone on here.

Is both your front sight and target blurry after about 50 rounds downrange in +37 heat? Mine is......and my good initial 5 round group goes to ####e from there as the IDPA silhouette starts looking more like a OO Buckshot blast from 15 yards lol........

I am pleasantly surprised that this thread which got quickly off the rails, has corrected itself. Knowledge level of individuals on this forum varies extensively. It takes time to discern who really knows their stuff. It also takes discipline to keep discussions from getting personal. There are no "underlings" here but there are many grateful Gun-nutters who owe 45ACPKING (and others) much thanks for their time and advice. Have a great weekend all.

Try holding the rifle more firmly, when U pull the trigger do a clean pull with follow through all the way to the end of your pull. Mine did the same thing and the problem went away after applying the above corrections. Also as others have said ensure all parts are greased (not too much) and that your bolt firing pin is clean with just a touch of oil in the channel.
