Browning Hi-Power 75th Anniversary edition?

Ellwood Epps has one for sale, however if you have a heart condition I wouldn't look at the price.

Yes, I saw that. From the description that one has been through the custom shop but even so I suspect they will own it for awhile at that price! I was referring to the "regular" anniversary editions (basicly a 2010 stock MK III with the engraving 1935-2010 etc on the top of the slide.) US asking prices appear to be in the 700-800 range.

I've since done some research on the Browning Hi-Power Owners forum and was a little surprised to learn that (at least in the US) the 75th anniversary editions don't command any sort of price premium. In fact, appearantly there was little demand and some gunshops ended up having to discount them below a regular Hi-Power when they were being retailed new.

Yeah, I figured you weren't looking for custom shop edition, just thought I'd mention it though.

It doesn't surprise me that the 75th anniversary edition doesn't sell well, because the MKIII's don't sell well in general. Most people that are looking to buy a BHP, including myself, want a MKI or MKII.

There is one on the EE I've had my eye on for awhile, but I can't afford it right now so I might as well share. he's asking 725 Shipped from NS for it. He has it listed as a MK3, but I think it looks like it might be the 75th Anniversary edition. Or at least a Hi Power Standard, which is basically the same thing, ..... I think.

I'm pretty sure (from what I've read) that all of the regular (not custom shop produced) 75th anniversary guns were just stock MKIII's with the engraved slide. According to people on the BHP owners forum the reason that the anniversary guns didn't sell well is that they were MKIII's and more people want the Standards

If the EE gun you mention is the one I looked at in June it's a 1989 MKIII in NB (owned by a guy at my club)....last price on it was 725 shipped. I believe it's sold. I called on it but they had a deal pending. Said they'd call me back if it fell through but i never heard anything and never got a response to a followup email and PM.
