1-4 Scopes, What does everyone use? Good, bad, and ugly

I find with most of the illuminated redicals in bright light/ snow they are hard to see (but great in low light).

The TR24 is fantastic in bright light/ snow, but is more difficult to see in no light situations or shooting from really low light into a bright light area.

It depends when and where you shoot. For me the TR24 just makes sense, I am never going to shoot in almost pitch black and find it great on a bright day when I am fair weather shooting (which is what I mostly do). In those same conditions I find the illuminated recticles often wash out (including nightforce, at least the 2.5-10x I tried).

cannot go wrong with specter dr, you just cant! glass comparable to swarovski, bullet drop, red dot, fast switch from 1 to 4, crosshair, illumination, unbeatable.
expensive but the best!

Anyone, ANYONE suggesting anything else has not tried one.

Yeah well at 2+ grand it also better lull me to sleep every night. That's a tough pill to swallow for most casual shooters.

i put a specter dr on my tavor it has never come off, i'll probably buy another for a 3gun ar i'm getting.

or you could buy my exps2-2 with g23 magnifier that I'm selling on the ee for 900$ (selfless self promotion)

Millett DMS here. Love it.

I have the same scope as well. They are owned by busnell so quality is there. Price is $300, glass is clear. Only complaint is it has 11 brightness settings for illumination but they are all useless in daylight haha.

One of the turret caps hold a spare battery too, kind of a cool feature. I'm sure some of these other scope have it as well but figured I'd mention it

Ps one day I will have an Elcan

I am running two Vortex Viper PST on a 16" AR and a RFB so far so good they have been use for about 4 months I would suggest the throw lever if you want to do quick magnification changes.

LOL. All fair, just happens to be where I picked mine up from for the same price. Love that thing.

Ended up getting the opportunity to go shooting tomorrow instead of work so decided I wanted a scope TONIGHT. Lol. Ended up just grabbing the Viper PST and a Burris PEPR QD mount. Couldn't justify the cost difference between the Viper and Accupoint, and everything else in that range I wasn't a fan of the reticle. If it comes down to it I'll spend the extra for the Vortex mount in the future, but having both in my hands at the same time I couldn't justify double the price (and all they had was the 3" offset, just seemed too much)

And yes, if I could afford one right now I'd buy an Elcan DR in a heartbeat. It's exactly everything I can ask for aside from having to shoot one handed because of trading the other arm for it.

Thanks everyone for the responses and ideas. Will definitely help in the future. Keep this going.

all true but anyone suggesting something else might not have 2000+$ to put on a scope, plus it's heavy.... I guess the weight is the price to pay for it's sturdiness.

Btw to the op, what's your budget?

I use a leupold vx1 1-4power with turky plex reticle for under $300.00 the new vx1 has multi coat 4 optics and finger turn adjustments these scopes are very clear,I have one on my xcr 308 and my keymod xcr 223.
