Hello everyone!
What kind of paint do you suggest for steel ar15 magazine. I don't have any equipement for spray paint so maybe the can can be a good choice but wich one? I don't want to put paint everywhere in my lower! Is it okay if i put paint on the rivet of my mag?

Thank you!

+1 for the Krylon. Probably the easiest and most readily available solution, which still provides great results. There's a few others you can use as well, but for what it costs for a can of Krylon at your local Walmart, you can't beat it.

Me personally, I'm not a fan of the whole clear coat thing...I prefer a matte finish. But hey, to each their own...

Good luck with your mags.

Krylon for sure. Clear coat will smoothen and get shiny leaving portions looking glossy with regular hand/glove contact. Been there. Some cleaners and solvents will also eat the stuff.

I've been playing with high heat engine/automotive paints with ceramic content.
Paint, dry and bake 2 to 3 times with ever increasing heat to set the ceramic.
Seems to be working for me on my refinished sks magazine. The VHT flameproof is flat but I noticed the finish isn't really chemical resistant. I went with a matt finish engine enamel, not VHT, from Benson auto supply and it specifies it's chemical resistant.
Seems to be working on what I have used it on but can't recall the brand. Plasticote? Dupli-color? With ceramic
