Difference between an 05 CZ 858 and 07+ CZ 858

Is there any difference between the 2? Curious if anyone has one of each for comparison. Since 1 is prohib and the other is not as we all know is ridiculous. I am just curious the difference and is it worth to try to obtain a non-prohib version as I alredy have a CSA.

Also if there is no difference I guess the serial number would tell you what year it is besides the side stamp that could possibly be altered?

I doubt any RCMP officer or CFO could tell the difference anyway!

Thanks. Forgot about that thread. I guess what I should have clarified is the recievers are really the same with the same welds from converted auto reciever. So why leave the 05 and take 07+. It just baffles me as they look like the same manufacturing.

I know there is no rhyme or reason to this madness just why not take them all. Maybe due to the small numbers of the earliers ones.

Thanks I am sure we are all tired of trying to reason with these decisions.

I managed to snag one up a month ago for $630 shipped.

I have a CZH 2003 (original Czech military VZ58) with 15" barrel and Brugger & Thomet rail system about to go on the EE by the end of the week so there will be at least one more out there.
 
It appears you can shoot all variations now, so go shoot. Even though there isn't a permanent fix, it is better than nothing.

I'd still buy a NR CZ858 of any year, but I don't think they are allowed to be purchased at this time due to the amnesty... maybe someone can confirm that.

FYI - If they are not registered, how is there a record of the sale. Just sayin......

A guy by the name of Mike has quite a few for sale, lives in South West Alberta I believe. That's where I got mine, great guy, cant remember his number off hand.

no difference between the two other than the 07 would have a large window on the left side of the rear sight base and ofcos its prohib.
 
Just curious as to how much an 05 ,06 was/is selling for ?

I remember when i first heard about all this stupidity.I was nervous as hell to take down my version and have a close look at the stampings,just knowing I was going to be pooched.

So Ironic, I sold my 05 years ago to get a handgun... then sold the handgun a couple years ago to buy a new 858... then that gets prohib and if I'd have just kept my 05 i would have had no problems :p

Oh well... great news today for all CZ / Swiss Arms owners, and I got out with a few boxes of 7.62 to celebrate and make up for the last few months.

Hang onto those 06/older's. You never know how this will play out.

Mike is from Canmore. Great guy. I sold him mine back in January.
 
Ideally they do not prohibit them. Or they do and i get grandfathered in giving me access to other prohibs like the fal. Or they do confiscate it and compensate me for it. Or they confiscate it without compensation.
Whatever i am in for the ride.
