!0/22 Stainless ??

Went for my first look at a 22lr semi auto. I was quite disappointed at the Ruger as it has an aluminium frame.
Did they ever make them in actual Stainless Steel?

Nope, that's what I find so funny about all the stainless fanboys, its only the barrel that's stainless. AMT made a 10/22 copy/clone that was all steel, weighed a ton!

I'm pretty sure all Ruger 10/22 receivers are aluminum but there are some after market receivers advertised as stainless.

Considering people pay big bucks for an RFB thats all plastic receiver and it's blasting .308 shells. I wouldn't worry about a .22 with alloy receiver. I own the stainless 10/22 and it's an awesome gun. Most AR's have alloy lowers. It's more about the name stamped on the gun rather than the material its stamped on.

The Ruger 10/22 has been on the market for over 40 years! Must be doing something right!

Never mind that, check out the plastic trigger assembly bits! But, they work just fine, so it is largely unimportant. How does it shoot?

I've struggled along for 15+ years with a 10/22 stainless as my main gopher defence gun. Other than fixing the bolt holdback business, it has never given me grief. It is pure stock with a $125 Bushnell scope.

Just because another rifle like an ar is aluminum does not mean it shares the same design and material specs with another. Bold statements like that are misinformed.
