Accuracy International AT Arrived

Nice stick Bolbmw, I told you you wouldn't regret it. Let us know how she shoots for you.

I'd say she's shooting pretty good. Some five shot groups after cleaning for the first time (cold clean bore is also right in the group as well, which is nice.)

Safe to say I found a load for the 155.5's ...

Nice work man!!! AI's are the bomb, I would never part with mine.

How are you liking that Atlas bipod setup? I have the Parker Hale and while it works well you really have to load it hard for it to not move. How hard do you have to load up the Atlas?

I like the Atlas, I had it on my previous rifle and it is a solid platform but not without its quirks. You only have to take the slack out of the system, so you only need to load minimally. There is a lot of potential movement in the system (spigot mount, atlas pan/tilt, etc) but it's a non issue. That shooting was done off of the atlas and with a bean bag, so clearly it can work. I find getting 'dialed in' can take awhile with the right bipod elevation/bag/etc.

AI is the only factory precision rifle I have ever tried. I was very impressed. It was not only accurate, but designed to stay that way.

My wife like it because it had a brake. It was lent to me by Mr. Wolverine. My wife was pissed when I sent it back. Wished I had bought it.

Thanks for the info on the Atlas. I guess I would have to try one out to determine if it would offer a stability advantage over the Parker Hale that came with my AW before I drop $250 on one.

The last two issues (June and July 2014) of the British magazine "Combat & Survival" have had a feature on the newer AI rifles. A lot of it (both text and images) is clearly based on company literature, but it is interesting if you are interested in AI, as I am.

Ghostie, where did you get the magazine with that article, I would love to get my hands on a copy! Thanks.

It is the June and July issues of this magazine. I just got them at the local "big" magazine store (Mayfair News, Broadway and Granville, the last decent magazine shop in existence in BC, and it has about half of what it did 10 years ago. The magazine industry is almost dead, as you may know). You should be able to order it directly from the magazine if you really want it.

Or, you can always go down to the U.S. It seems to me that even the local Barnes & Noble in Bellingham has a better selection of magazines than the best "specialty" magazine shop in Canada these days. And their Barnes & Noble isn't a form of socialist mind-control and censorship the way Chapters and Indigo are here. They actually allow you to buy books and magazines about guns if you are interested in that rather than "socialist approved" hobbies and interests.
