TT-33 Ejection issue

Hello all,

I have a TT-33 with extraction issue, this started around the time I started shooting some new ammunition (green casing, bronze bullet, no red sealent), and just finished my last create of ammo (so I've shot about 2250 rounds through it). A round will fire in the chamber but the spent casing doesn't come out, usually causing what looks like a double feed. The casing will often be kindda stuck in the chamber and if I don't get it out before the slide goes forward it gets really jammed in there and will require a hammer to get it out.

I'm not sure if it an ammo issue, from everything I read I now have the good ammo. There is what looks like a corner of my extractor missing but I'm not sure as I have nothing to compare it to.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Had the same issue with mine, same type of ammo as you described. I narrowed it down to the lacker coating on the steel casing. I got brass surplus CZECH with no coating and my problem disappeared. Had no issue with steel case copper washed either. Check your ammo at the base of your extracted cases, mine that got stuck didn't have much room for the extractor to clamp on due to the lacker.

My crap ammo was lot 1819/54 aym 11/54

Seems to be sticking after a couple of rounds especially double tapping. To clear my chamber, I stuck a cleaning rod in the barrel (after clearing the live rounds, of course), lean it on the ground and applied good force downward.

I managed to attach some photos, the first two are of the extractor, you can see one corner looks rounded but I'm not sure if that is normal. The other two are of the ammo, they don't appear to have any red lacquer which I've heard is usually the cause of the cases sticking in the chamber.

I have the same problem,any ammo is the same.
after 20-30 rounds,It will happen.

I am looking for the answer too.
 
My solution (although mine was with a Mosin Nagant) was to polish the chamber by putting a chamber sized brush (maybe a .40 cal or something?) on a section of cleaning rod, wrap it in 0000 steel wool, coat in oil, then chuck it up to a drill and give the chamber a good scrubbing. I've shot many laquered cases in my rifle, and since the thorough cleaning I haven't had any trouble. YMMV, but I would say it's worth a shot...

I just got back from the range after trying this and after about 4 mags it started doing it again. I dont know if the laqur just started sticking again or I'm back to wondering about the ejector again.
