My Dodge diesel is 10 + yrs old being a 2003. c-fbmi's is getting up there. There are many around of that vintage. Fords of that vintage unfortunately are found at auto recyclers. Sorry couldn't resist as I have been no fan of Ford trucks since owning one in the early 80's.

Have a good trip south Doug when you do get underway.

Funny thing, my '03 Ford is still going strong and with 242,000 kms on it. Has a 5.4 Triton with the HP chip in it. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned to date. They are all good if they are maintained properly. I have had few large or major repairs. In fact aside from normal wear and tear such as brakes or tires I have only had one repair of any amount and that was $1700 for spark plugs, two new manifolds, fuel injector flush and a safety here in SK one month ago. Not bad for an 11 year old truck.

I was a die-hard dodge man with a garage full of tools...

I got my first used Ford, it was an 86, reg cab, long box. Ran it from 380,000 km till 573,000 km.....
My next ford was a 91, 4x4, ext cab, short box. Ran it from 240,000 km till 380,000. I sold it to another "thrifty" gentleman...
I then bought a Dodge, brand spanking new 2012, off the lot...... If I could afford it, I'd drive it into a lake! My 99 F-150 "beater" runs better, runs quieter....

But then I've never had a diesel truck.....
