What scope would you put on it? I'm looking for a scope for my new CZ 455. I have no set budget so am interested in everything from 200 and up. So far, I have been looking at a Leupold VX III 4.5-14x40AO and am just about ready to pull the pin on EE for one. Any suggestions for anything better before I commit?

I would go with a vortex viper 4-16x44. Hell of a great scope. Almost all my scopes are vortex because for the money I haven't seen anything better.

Edit: got any pix of the gun?

No pics yet. It is on it's way from the CZ distributor in Ontario. Bought it at Milarm in Edmonton.

Here's a stock photo...

Leupold VX III 4.5-14x40AO is a good choice.
As a scope for target there would b little problem.
As a gopher gun the scope presents limitations when you change the range as you literally have to move the scope to 90 degrees to adjust the objective.
Since you are almost at the cost of a side focus that would strike me as having an advantage.
I have had two CZ's, a Varmint and an American. They both wore various scopes, right up to 36 power which was strictly a target purpose and once the AO was set there were no further changes required.
The same applied when it wore a 6-24 x 40 AO Bushnell.
I had a Leupold Rifleman 4 - 12 X on one which Korth reset to a 75 yard parallax.
There are lots of options when money is no option.

The Hawke Varmint SF series is an excellent value... comes in 2.5-10, 3-12, 4-16 & 6-24X... I would recommend the 4-16X as a minimum for paper or gophers...

I have recently been using a bushnell elite 6500 2.5-16 on my cz and it is great for target and varmints. 2.5 makes that gopher that pops his head up a few feet away easy to shoot. It was on my 30-06 and was supposed to be temporary on the CZ, but I think it will stay.

My last scope purchase was a Bushy Elite 4-16x40AO, focus was closer than the Leupold and Viper, loses nothing in clarity. Does good for those close in gopher shots.

I'm going to second the VXII or VXII 4-14x40 AO. These scopes are functional with good parallax adjustment 0 to Infinity, and a variety of reticles. Finally, their damn fine to look at especially when coupled with a nice wood stock. My 452 Lux...

I have a Nikon monarch 4-16x42 on one of my .22s. I use it for gopher varmints and paper 25-120 yards. It has a side parallax.. I like it. Cost about 500$ after tax from cabelas. Lots of the already mentioned scopes seem to fit the bill to.

Thank you for all the input. I think I have narrowed it down to a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 illuminated. Now before anyone says that's overkill, I would like to be able to use this on my AR from time to time as well. Now the question I have is FFP or SFP? Any thoughts? The FFP is only $150 more than the SFP version.

FFP is good if you want to use the mil dot hold overs any multiple magnifications. FFP reticle will grow bigger as you zoom the scope in which can sometimes make it a challenge to use at min zoom. SFP the reticle stays the same size through the zoom, but your hold offs change as you zoom. I d recommend saving the money and going with the SFP. I expect almost all of your long range shooting to take place at max zoom on a scope of that magnification. Also the tracking is awesome on these turrets so you can figure out your bullet drop and compensate using scope adjustments anyways. I prefer that to using mil-dot hold over.
