I just purchased a Brand new DE Mark XIX .50AE from prophet river and upon doing the initial cleaning I noticed Rust inside the end of the barrel and the finish inside is all messed up....

Is this how a brand new 1700$ pistol should look like when a client received it.....

I inspected the gun for about 30 min when I was at the shop but I never field stripped it and looked down the barrel....

The rest of the gun is pristine (fit and finish)

My question is : Is this normal, should I get a replacement barrel???
I managed to remove some with oil but the finish is all crapped out under the rust even my old Model 29 looks better than this.... :(

If I could choose I would like to receive a new barrel thru the mail and resend that one after I receive the new one.
I will be contacting prophet river tomorrow....

What are ur opinions on that, any other DE owners had the same issues?

Please haters and trolls not comment like DE is crap etc.... I drive a Hummer H2 so I deal with haters often and I dont have time for that....

Thanks Guys
David

No not normal but good news is that Profit will totally help you out so don't worry. You are better off returning the gun for a full replacement. Replacement barrels can take a while to get and may need some tweaking to fit properly.

Call them up and send it back.

Pretty insulting that it was shipped out in that condition at all.

Ask to return it, don't blame Prophet River, they are like you, this is à new gun, should be ok, don't field strip new gun when they have it. Used gun ok but not NIB. They will help for sure. They got great customer service.

If it would have been slight surface rust that would be removed with a oiled patch thru barrel with my jag if would have been ok but i had to use a bore brush several times to start to remove it......

By contacting Prophet River today they will be able to cross check other DE they have in their inventory AND if they are flawless indeed then I should be getting a new one...... like swap mine for one that is good then return the other new gun with my swaped barrel to Magnum Researsh..... as I heard just getting a barrel is much harder to get a whole gun..........

They offered me to swap the barrels for another one no problem as they have others DE in stock, on the Desert Eagle the way they are build swaping a barrel would not need tweaking at all.... as u can buy different barrels (.44 and .357) and keep the same frame.....

Nice service and support Indeed! :)

Glad it worked out. Profits is a great outfit. Yes I guess the barrel swap makes the most sense as you don't need to change paperwork etc.. For me, I ordered a new calibre (44) and it took 8 months, but it was a matte chrome so maybe that was the reason for delay. My new barrel did require some fitting, but I'm sure that was the exception, rather than the rule.
Enjoy. They are a lot of fun to shoot, though I tend to only shoot a few mags at the end of a session.
