Bullpup Air rifles

Aftermarket bullpup stocks are a no no... Think SKS into an aftermarket stock OR a Mini 14 into the same.

The T97, KSG and Tavor are legal as the actions are integral to the firearm.

So, which air rifle are we talking about?

Cheers
Jay

I think he meant something like the Evanix Max Bullpup: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Evanix_MAX_Bullpup/2727

Airgun Source imported 2 bullpups from Evanix called the Rainstorm Bullpup. They were specially modified for legal sale in Canada. The owner of Airgun Source has one and my buddy Dan has the other. Airgun Source sent me an email back in April in response to an inquiry:
Hi Rich,

The chances of importing a bullpup are pretty slim right now.
All the new models coming out and the RCMP is keeping a close eye on them. We tried bringing in the FX Bobcat which technically is not a full bull pup design and they still did not like it and are prohibiting it.

Suppressors can be removed from the Cricket but its the bull pup that is the issue.

Wow they use air not fire to propel a bullet. These decisions just keep getting more and more ridiculous.

If it is not over 500 fps its not a firearm, no license required and should be good to go. D&L airgun already has bullpups for sale and could probably get what ever you like. I have one of their Chinese takedown bullpups.

Is it a QB57 you're talking about?

An air gun is by definition a firearm in Canada. Stop saying otherwise. The 500fps makes it not subject to licensing and other regulations but it is sill legally a firearm no matter how slow the BB or pellet.

So the RCMP had to give the thumbs up to my Red Ryder?

:bangHead:

It is the same concept as classifying a blowback semi auto 22 rimfire rifle as being restricted because it's internals apparently operate identically to a gas operated impingement AR15 rifle.

NO, it's because of the definition of "Firearm" in Section 2 of the Criminal Code (you know, the one that's written by politicians (actually their minions), not by the RCMP) !

The QB57 is more of a take-down rifle than a bullpup in the conventional sense. It shouldn't be compared to the Evanix Max Bullpup referred to above. Airguns such as the Evanix are not available in Canada, nor are others such as the Kalibrgun Cricket and FX Bobcat.

So, according to a guy I talked to at Airgun Source, all bullpup air rifles are prohibited in Canada...not sure why but likely has to do with the rash of crimes committed with concealed bullpup air rifles in the years gone by...much like the rash of crimes committed with blow guns, throwing stars and morning stars...at least I can sleep soundly tonight.
