Summer Slam VIII Registration is now open!

Speaking from actual experience...the match would stand to be de-sanctioned...

In any event...serving a trespass notice (ie getting LE involved) is beyond petty...

The club could serve the individual with a trespass notice, including the caution that the notice is not voided by that individuals participation in events governed by third parties.

While it may not be possible to exclude a member in good standing from registering from a sanctioned match, nothing stops the host club from having him removed from the property.

The ignorant member of your club needs to be tuned in. Clean up ypur house before he destroys it. The local club shouldn't have to do it for you. Push the local club too far and it all goes away. As a club exec, I would care what some other orgs rule book says. Go take your match somewhere else.

IDPA failed at our club. Why? Because they tried to rule us. Cya!

Petty is as petty does Mr.Gump. If a guy is ####, and ignorant, and has been warned by his section rep, and then continues to be ignorant, insultive, petty, rude and disrespectful in regards to the club, I would think this person would not be a person in good standing of his section, nor his club.
Why would a person say such negative things about the organization/ club, yet continue to attend that club? I am sure a psychologist could explain this....but I only watch crazy.

I don't believe that to be true. 3.3.1 in my view has to do with clubs enforcing a sport related rule (like no pointing guns over top of berms)....I don't view a banned member as being a rule at all....

I wonder what Sean has to say about this...as far as I know, it's never been an issue but I do know in this case, the member Mo is talking about has also be invited by some to not show up at our matches as well.

I don't know the whole background here so I'm not taking sides, but why would anyone even want to go to a match they are not welcome at? It would add some unnecessary stress to the shooting and kind of take the fun out of it, no?

There is always the misery loves company angle Ken. Some folks brighten a room when they arrive. Others, when they leave.

EUXX is an ass......

But, he is a well meaning ass!

I don't know anyone personally, that has a better understanding of the rule book!

I have attended 2 Summer Slams, both times the IPSC Rules were loosey goosey....(I enjoyed the match immensely), but IPSC rules weren't strictly followed!

IMHO......roving RO's should be avoided at all costs.......not allowing people who drove 16+ hours to shoot your match together.......just stupid!

EUXX has legitimate complaints......sweeping them under the rug......you wont grow!!!!

this, a range local to me had this issue a year or two ago. you can't hold a sanctioned ipsc match and not allow any member in good standing to attend it. This ment for a year or two the club only had club matches

The way that rule is worded relates to the sport and is obvious as such. I.e. - A range requires all magazine be loaded to 5 rounds only, but ipsc Canada states rounds may be loaded to 10 rounds therefore IPSC rules would trump local rules for the sake of having a sanctioned IPSC match. I can find no ruling in the rule book stating a competitor in good standing must be accepted to compete.

It states:
Match Director (“MD”) – Handles overall match administration including squadding, scheduling, range
construction, the coordination of all support staff and the provision of services. His authority and decisions
will prevail with regard to all matters except in respect of matters in these rules which are the domain of the
Range Master. The Match Director is appointed by the host organization and works with the Range Master.

Therefore any acceptance of a competitor is his decision. Since the rules do not state any competitor in good standing MUST be accepted to compete, a person can be excluded from competition if necessary.

If your in Ontario. As a club you can just revoke his letter of invitation, problem solved. Since this is done on a club executive level IPSC has no say. He can sign up and show up and deal with any legal issues himself.

agreed

also agreed

Well in this situation that is not the case. Other squads (like mine) looked at the same evidence and came to the correct conclusion that Euxx did not.

This was my 5th summer slam and every one of them has been better and better. They are learning.

Also agreed...................there are problems ingrained in such a plan that should be avoided for multiple reasons.

not allowing people who drove 16+ hours to shoot your match together.......just stupid!
That is due to the lack of qualified locals. Something that needs to be addressed.

EUXX has legitimate complaints......sweeping them under the rug......you wont grow!!!!

I will not argue the first point...............but in reality it comes down to how you talk to people. Euxx has ZERO interpersonal skills That is what has happened here.

I love the summer slam matches............I hope and trust that they will continue to improve and that I will be able to make it.
