Stopped in at wholesale sports( CABALAS in north end really coming along ) in Nanaimo yesterday on way home have lots of SKS . looked at a 1950 refurb laminated stock all numbers matching pinned follower gold colored bayo. $219. nice gun also had a svt and a moison naget on the rack......:runaway::runaway::runaway: just saying.

Got a laminate from that store recently and the handguard did not match the stock, ie non laminate handguard. I looked at 5 and they were all like that. Still on the lookout one if anyone has spares.

Just because the stock looks beat doesn't mean the rest of the rifle is beat. I picked one up that was looking a little haggard and it had a chrome lined barrel with nice rifling, great bolt and receiver, it was a bargain at $160. A Russian gun from the 50's should look a little beat in my opinion, I passed on a new (factory test fires only) laminate for $249. That $90 spread bought ammo.

I picked up all of my mosins from them for something like $140 each, all of them nice rifles, but the staff is kind of hard to deal with as they dont relay like it when you ask if you can look though a bunch of them to pick the one you want.

That is correct . A couple of fellows/ mabe one will look for a certain year for you when time allows.......... the boxes have the letters then s/n but you have to OPEN the box to see if all numbers match / forced match or in some cases a late1955-56 LETTER GUN if that's what you want a list of prefex letters will help in the search IF someone will help you..........I guess no one is worried about CABALAS 5 minutes away....... IMHO

I refuse to go there. I am in a wheelchair and have been snubed 3 times. 1 time my girlfriend was looking at buying a 45 1911. But after the way they treated us we are done with them. Tryed to talk to manegment but no luck. Cant wait for Cabalas.

I won't go to Wholesale either. Their attitude stinks. Arrogant to say the least at the firearms counter in the one in Prince George BC. Should have known when I walked in there in the middle of the day and there wasn't another customer in there. The place felt like it was sanitized. Everything too neat and organized, felt like being in a museum. The attitude of the staff was you cant even look at a gun practically unless you buy it first. Let alone look go through what they have and choose the one you want. Prices there were higher than other places anyway. I though they were supposed to be better. It was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt in an outdoors or gun store in my life. Will never go back.

If it had a laminate stock, it was likely a refurb.....very few late model rifles were issued with laminates from the factory.

To be fair, i like the staff at the nanaimo wholesale. When they're not friggen swamped, they are more than happy BS with you, and they've been super patient with me when i looked at 5 sks. Not only that, but when i had one that had a fte issue, they swapped it for another. warranty on a 60 year old gun. Not bad!

There are a few old dogs at the gun counter at the Wpg WSS who will do anything to avoid work.
I like dealing with the younger dark haired girl and the young guy with glasses.
If the old guys are working I don't bother with them. They're kind of dopey IMO.

Holy, how many people from my town are on this site? I live in Nanaimo as well. It really depends on who you get at the counter for quality of service at Nanaimo Wholesale. One guy is kind of a ####. It's actually Gone Fishin that I refuse to go to though because they sold me a defective optic mount with a screw that was cross threaded from the factory and they decided it was a better business decision to screw a customer out of $50 than try and make it right. Be careful if you shop there.
