Who cares? You bought it for yourself and planning to keep it for life. I much prefer to slightly overpay and get what I want instead of going cheaper and compromise. Is even $200 such a big deal in the great scheme of things? I don't think so...after all it's not like they still make them that way. Congratulations!
When I refer to post 64, I mean the sintered metal receiver, low quality stamped metal parts guns, made before about 1980 or so when the AE and XTR came out.
They're pretty much Kryptonite to anyone who knows the facts...
Yes, the guns produced in the late 70's and on were much improved, back to forged receivers and machined parts.
