I put a magpul bad lever on my project AR. I know there are a few makes out there now. What are peoples opinion on them? Maybe im old school but I miss slapping my rifle on the side to release that bolt. And its snagged on my sweater once. Opinions?

I ran one for a bunch of matches. I use it more to hold the bolt open than close the bolt. I took it off and don't really miss it.Also all my mags now will work to hold the bolt open on the last shot. Having had one and used it a number of times I'd say save your money and forget it.

Hate em all the bad lever is a pos the best city in a ####ty country is the phase 5 other then the good old factory style its seems to be the next best choice.

I haven't had any issues so far with my BAD lever, it's still tight on there and it's useful for releasing the bolt or to help lock it open, and you can do a lot more things singe handedly. The only thing I don't like is having it be external, makes it seem really fragile. But, for $40 I can't complain.

I could not use the bad lever as well. Got rid of it and put on a DPMS tactical bolt release. Installed in 30 seconds and works like a charm.

BAD lever on my Bushmaster was causing the bolt to lock back. It had enough mass, and there was enough slack in the paddle to allow it to lock the bolt back on recoil/firing. Took if off, problem solved.

To each his own, but the best thing to do is try one yourself and form your own opinions. I've been using one for a couple years and never had an issue with it and like what it does.

I've use a Bad lever on my DD M4V7 for almost a year and I've had no issues.

Best way to do is try it out its only 40$ give or take.

We carry the Seekins oversized Enhanced Bolt Catch if you want to avoid a lever, but want something a little more easy to manipulate with gloves

The Phase 5 V2 Bolt Release completely replaces the bolt release with its own integrated lever

Is the phase 5 lever just as floppy as the bad lever. A lot of play with the bad lever? feels like it could snap off at any moment.

Nope - if you notice - it completely replaces your bolt release - you have to use a roll pin punch and remove the entire bolt release paddle and replace it with the Phase 5 V2.
