Is there a Flashhider that do not sound like a cannon?

Hera makes an interesting linear comp...

I have that comp on my 11.5 inch custom AR. Big fire ball with 5.56 norc ammunition. It's make a big boom in front and in the around the front of my gun. From my position and of my back it's easy with ear plug. But I would not fire the gun without plug or muff.

when I google search DD linear comps , they have a few diff ones. Do linear = quiet or is it something else?

I can't says that is quiet, because nothing in canada can reduce de sound. These kind of comp like my hera arms, push all the sound up front only. You don't feel the concusion behind and on side of the gun.

I'm just looking for something that do not change the sound, the one I have now shakes the building.. If it sounds as it would without flash hider , that would be great. The reason I ask about DD, is that I'm ordering a new XCR from wolverine and that's what they sell:)

I saw a video of a linear compensator and you could clearly see flash. I thought ALL linear compensators eliminate flash, but it looks like I could be wasting money experimenting with LCs determining which can be purchased in Canada AND eliminate flash AND throw the noise forward.

Anyone can recommend a linear compensator that:
1. Can be easily purchased in Canada (please provide link)
2. AND eliminates flash
3. AND throws noise forward?

Thanks!

bah.. I looked at more linear comp videos (including the Hera), and it looks like none of them eliminate muzzle flash as well as the A2.

I'd settle for 1and3 :)

The length of your barrel and the ammo you use have more to do with flash than what flash hider or compensator you install.
My 6.5 inch AR with a linear comp would make a huge fireball with American Eagle red box but was almost not noticeable with American Eagle black box and with Black Hills Mk262 Mod 1 77gr match.
If you shoot ammo that doesn't have a flash suppressant in it or shoot from a short barrel where the powder will still be burning when the bullet exits the muzzle you will have a flash no matter what muzzle device you use other than maybe a proper sound suppressor which would give the powder a place to finish burning out of sight.
