Special Forces AR accuracy?

I work with one of these self described ex special forces guys. Funny thing is, all of his stories are nearly identical to either call of duty missions or a steven seagal movie.

I'll put the top Canadian reserve army service rifle shooters up against ANY sf guys from any country, any day. From 100-500m it wouldn't even be close.

Guys that shoot a thousand or so rounds with old rifle barrels against guys that shoot hundreds of thousands of rounds with maintained rifles...I'll take the SF guys.

Wow!
Worked all day and came back to a ton of comments!
The DOG of the USCG is a police/military unit. According to the guy, they are used mostly for search/seizure, piracy, hostage situations. They do deploy around the world, not just US waters. He tells me that their handguns are .40 cal and loaded with hollow points, not FMJ. He has never fired a shot in anger. If he is as much a braggert as you guys seem to think he is, why did he not tell me about his Chuck Norris stories rather than him not even firing a shot in his active career? The 1 inch group he shot is bang on the bullseye. It was timed fire, not rapid fire. He never gave any impression of being the best of the best, just a humble guy. And no, I did not make out with him!!
Besides, the reason for the post was just that I was wondering if the Special Forces ( I don't care whose) have better ARs than we can buy or if they are just better shots ( dime size groups or not!) I am guessing, by most of the responses, that their superior marksmanship comes from quality training, quantity of ammo shot and muscle memory more than the platform itself.
I will shoot with the guy again soon and will try and post pics ....if I ever figure out how. I don't even own a smartphone!!

At least a reach around?

I always wonder how the bearded SF types get a proper Respirator fit.

Easy. You flip the beard up over your face and it filters the air for you.

Man, someone needs to make a Call of Seagull game. I would play that for days.

Honestly, how effective would a respirator really be in a situation other than when you have forewarning? Are you really going to be all like, "Hey, Dave, do you smell something?" and then manage to pull your mask on in time?

Anyone can buy a match barrel for their ar

10" standard at 100m deliberate fire for Infantry
So I am guessing that 8" is for 100m deliberate fire
Not trying to dog this guy here as I hold nothing but respect for what these people do, but I'm gonna call BS on the "required" dime size groups. I myself have trained with an ELITE group of Canadian special forces and they don't hold any standard like this. They were given an 8" accuracy standard. I've also trained with Jeff Gonzales (retired navy seal) and he also holds an 8" accuracy standard during all his shooting. Again, not trying to disrespect, but I think he was blowing smoke up your arse.

Saying that, I've been wrong before (it happened twice) ;-)
