Well then everyone (except me) must be patient while you get in "the mood", sooo how did the bbls turn out?
do the pilots on your reamers fit?
what size of neck reamers did you get?
how much free bore are you putting in?
what leade angle did you get?
what size did you get for the throater? is it a Uni-throater?

Barrels tuned out perfect, 416 SS stress relieved and annealed, 28" blanks.
Yes, perfectly.
I ordered N&Ts two are .264 and 2 are .272 neck dia
2 different leade (freebore) with each neck size, .234 and .350
Leade angle 1.5 deg

Never ordered a specific throater .....yet.

All N&Ts are removable pilot as well..........handy, cause now I don't have to make one for the 22 cal reamers that I have.

If I find that I have too much leade or freebore then I'll just send two back for regrind...........I like freebore though, for seating bullets out where they belong, but the 350 might be a bit long, but then again maybe not.
 
I think you'll get your wish, you should have an awful lot of freebore. My reamer has .100 of freebore and the bullets base is at the junction on the neck & puts the bullet .020 off the lands , I did get a throater just case but it wasn't required.

ll bet its nice and cool in your shop around 6;00am, could be shooting easily by noon:rockOn:

Not a hope, with 90-110 gn bullets............I don't care how brave you are!!

I have done a lot of loading and shooting of the 6mm-284 and it will not come close to 4K with those bullet weights, so it is physically impossible for a bullet 9 thou smaller base dia, in the same weight to do it. And actually the 284 is a much more efficient case design with the same capacity as the 06 case.

Not sure why all you boys are jumping up and down about the 23-06 and wondering if I can build one, when I'm already set up and building one of the same capacity, and a better case design...........the 23-06 will not do a thing that the 23-284, (Douglas) won't do and quite likely do it better.

It's bad enough trying to figure out what kamlooky intends to say, or not. Kind of like the "funny uncle" that everybody tolerates but nobody understands. This thread is hard enough to follow, just for technical data, without TWO kamkooky's......................................................so for God's sake man, what on earth are you taking about pumping tires??????????????????????????????

TJW........I'd much rather navigate through a few spelling mistakes than try to figure out "whats you puttin' down" in 'Lookanese............

Anyway guys, I just finished a 100 mtr range in my pasture complete with dug out back stop and new shooting bench I designed. Tried it out yesterday with my new 25-06 and the kid was shooting his 358 Win..........no complaints yet from the neighbors, but I anticipate it won't be too many load testing sessions until I hear from someone about it!!!!!! I intend to build a sound attenuated shooting house in the near future, or I'm sure I'll be having issues with my neighbors.......

Another of my amateur guesses, using a 60 - 75gr pill 'might' get you 4,000 f/sec.
