My grandfather recently gave me two 20 round boxes of boer war ammo that are still in the paper wrap with the twin still on them. What is it worth to a collecter and is it worth holding onto? also have some that fell lose from another damaged paper pakage...? What are them worth individualy? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

If it is actually Boer War, might be 50$, maybe more. Alot mor WW1 stuff than Boer war bundles out there.

Pics of the wrappers and the headstamps would be most helpful! There were different kinds of bundles depending on ammo & use. I've seen packets for ball, blanks, DCRA target shoots etc. I suspect yours will most likely be ball (if they even used that term back then?)

Are you sure these are 20 round packets? British packaging at that time was normally 10 round bundles.

I have examples of Ball Mark II, Ball Mark IV and Ball Mark V packets which I can post for comparison.

I was a bit curious about the "20" round packets myself. 10 round paper wrapped bundles tied with string are frequently seen at Gun Shows here in Canada but I have not seen a 20 round one in the 60 plus years I have been Collecting and attending Gun Shows.
