Just got my Antlerless deer tag!

WOW!!! You guys from Ontario sure get excited about having a whitetail doe tag. It appears you really appreciate it when received. Good luck to all recipients and non-recipients of the tag.

whats even more exciting is forking out the cash..... to get your name in the draw.

Checked the mail after posting yesterday, Mine came in, the wifes is still in limbo (if she was successful). We manage our deer herd pretty carefully in my area, I monitor it year round as I work in the same area every day. After the season was done last year we counted 63 deer in a kilometer stretch at our hunting area. Deer herd here is good and strong, if anything too strong. Buck or Doe, if it is a good freezer filler, I'm pulling the trigger or letting the arrow fly. The last ten years I've been placing cameras at my stand and picking my deer a month or so before I even start hunting (usually november for me). I've nailed the one I picked about half of the time. This year, no cameras, gonna be a surprise. But with my Anterless tag in hand I'm good to go one either. I just really hope I'm successful on the Controlled draw and there are additional tags since there are no archery additional in my WMU this year..

up in 58-59 area, i was told by one of the store owners (he sells licensing and tags) that there were more tags available then were purchased last year.

My antlerless deer tag arrived in the mail today and it was my first choice even thou the quota was reduced by 200.

Heading up to hunting spot #1 this weekend to continue preparing the area and then scout out hunting spot #2 and prep that area as well.

Good Luck Everyone!

When gun season is only 1-2 weeks in some areas you can't help but get excited about drawing a doe tag. Up where I hunt the bush is very thick with no fields or open aspens to hunt. I only used to get 3-4 days of gun hunting for deer each year so a doe tag greatly increased the odds of filling the freezer and not just emptying the bank account. I couldn't believe the hunting opportunities/seasons in Alberta when I was living out there. Now that I have a bow deer season went from 2 weeks to 2.5 months. Best of luck to all on your draws!

I know a few guys who bought crossbows just so they could extend their hunting season. This is my first hunt and the two areas I have access to have lots of deer according to their owners. Both of them tag out very year and are selective wih their shot. If I don't get one with a rifle they said they will make fun of me until next year. Lol. If I fail with a rifle I will get a bow just in case.

My father received his today. Hope I get one in the mail tomorrow.

ETA: Just checked online. I got one! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! And I just got a nice 25-06 last week too. This year's gonna be good. :D

I got my doe tag for 11A and I purchased an additional seal (antlerless) for 12 B. Now I just hope there are some deer out there. 3 real bad, deep snow winters and lots of timber wolves have taken a toll.

Unsuccessful for 46 and 53A... we can party hunt on my friends antlerless tag in 46 though :)

I called the Aurora MNR detachment and they said that if people have not received their antlered or antlerless license's/tags yet they should give it another 2 weeks for the mail system to catch up.

WMU 61 with 60 as a backup.

Might be a good year to try baiting for bear instead if no one from my hunt group draws a doe tag. Had a good size bear on the trail cam a couple weeks ago.

Bear season starts up in just over 3 weeks for most areas. I can't wait to get out and hopefully bag a bear.
