Hi Mr Grumpy,

I am not that good in English but 3 is not written tree ?

I wrote a couple of checks with that number and they were all cashed by the bank.

SO may I continue using tree instead of three.

One confused non english speaking friend.

It's Grumpy's little poke at Newfoundland (taken in jest of course :)), due to our local dialect the number three tends to be pronounced "tree". We've got our own brand of English here! :D

Cheers,
Mitch

Wonder if that was the reason we were taught to pronounce "three" as "tree" when we did radios on our BMQ. When asked, none of our staff could tell us why.

Tis all done in the best of fun, I actually have a soft spot for Newfoundland and Cape Breton as well, besides being Irish, the tree thing is something I grew up hearing a lot LOL

Because of the different ways (dialects) people say three, tree is easier for the brain to understand.
