HK VP9: Bad News and Good News

:cool::cool:where are you getting this info from? and from your experience what do you think the price difference could be?

I can sense some MP fanboysm in you obi wan KevinB.:p

HAHAHAHA

The gun was designed for a program down here - and the US Police Markets -- cost is driven by volume...

I was using the MP as an example because:
if the cost was driven by volume, then Mp should cost a lot more here in Canada than what they really cost, nevertheless, they cost the same as what they cost in the states, so the 'driven by volume' is relative to the actual 'local' market, marketing and hype. No?

If local retailers are planning to sell this gun at $1200/1300 new, like it happens to the P30L (which is worth $700/850 or less in the US), it will not a be a popular gun here (like the P30L), and I think cost will defeat its purpose which is to get into the 'striker fired market'.

With a Glock here at around $750 new, I can see it costing the same as a Walther, maybe around $800/900, maybe more at the beginning, but less than $1000 for sure.
800/900 is reasonable.

P30 down here is around 900-1k new, depending upon trigger mode.
From a LE dealer individual officer purchase I can get around $850.

VP9 down here from my LE distributor was quoted to me at $500 with my creds
M&P with night sights is $445

Biggest thing for me is 1) can I fit a MRDS to the slide.

Nice!
here, 500 for an HK! it's like a dream, lol!

This sounds like good news to me, I wonder if the TR will be a long slide version? Either way my wallet can rest easy for a few more months!

Good to see big arms industry people on a Canadian gun forum.
BTW, SR15 mod 1 is awesome, my first and only AR for now :)

it is not the canadian market, it is the rest of the world. HK USA cannot export, they can only sell whithin the US, therefore, if a striker fired pistol is created in Germany, it will be exported from there to the rest of the world, including Canada and most likely it will comply with barrel lengths.

Reread my post you the know the part about what their doing for the canadian market.

Were in canada so I said canadian market, why is that hk guys seem to allways think their the smartest people in the room.

skoal,

HK Germany and their distributor in Canada, FN Sport, know what the legal barrel length requirements are for us.
HK Germany plans and wants to sell the SFP9 in Canada. We have P2000's with barrels cut slightly longer for us, the same will happen with the SFP9.

What don't you understand?
