Folks I'm getting ready to load my first batch of .50 Action Express. I haven't found a lot of reloading data but I have found some. I'm wondering if anyone has a preferred load / tested safe load etc - that works for them. I have (or will have in a couple of days) a batch of brand new Starline brass, Berry .50AE 300 GR RS Bullets. Winchester primers and I have Winchester 296 powder. I have found a couple of loads after lots of digging online just wondering if anyone has anything that works for them. Thanks, Dave

Not many using .50 AE due to the cost and size of the pistols. However, assuming RS are plated like the rest of Berry's stuff, they use cast bullet data. Plated bullets are not jacketed bullets. Not seeing any 300's on their site either. You find the 300 grain jacketed data on Handloads.com? And reloadammo.com?
There is some 300 grain jacketed data on Reloader's Nest, but only using Vihtavuori powders.

Hodgdon lists h110 (same as w296) at 29gr start and 32gr max for a 325gr which is close enough especially since your using a lighter bullet. I would start at 29gr and go from there.

For OAL make a dummy round that freely drops in and out of your barrel make some test loads and see how she goes.

Ammoguide has some data there - thats where I was starting from.

Makes sense - thanks. Wasn't aware of the Hodgdon<=>w296 connection. The rest makes sense though. Thanks ...

I will put it out there that some people say it's a different powder, but I've interchanged data for my 357 and 500 magnum all the time.
