Hi,

I don't have my rPAL yet, but I was thinking of getting one so that I can attend my local club's indoor range more regularly without being a mooch. Also I was considering getting into multi-gun or IPSC types of events since my club offers both occassionally. So, can anyone tell me, is there a handgun out there (read: inexpensive) that comes in .22 and then in a 9mm or larger caliber? I know someone who has the Sig 226 with the .22 and a bigger caliber upper, but that's going to be over $1000 by the time it arrives at my door. Still that may be the best option for what I'm looking for, but I'm likely to just buy the .22 first and see how I like it.

I was just hoping to get two guns that are the same ergonomically, same site adjustments, etc., the only difference when I switch back and forth being the recoil. And its definitely doable if I'm willing to part with some cash, which I'm not if I can help it. I should be able to get two Norinco or ISSC-esque type guns for $750 or so, no?

Thanks,

Mark

You can get a 1911 gun in 45 or 9mm and then buy a GSG 22 top end and magazines. That would probably be the cheapest option.

If you want to do production you can get a Shadow in 9mm and buy their Kadet 22 kit but it's pricey.

Smith and Wesson Mp22 and Mp9. Two separate guns no conversions. Still over 1000$.

Glock offer the lowest price 9mm and .22 conversion I can think of. The Sig next I think..

The CZ would be great but the Kadet is priced like its gold plated.

Sorry outside of the Norc option..

I recently purchased a Norinco NP29 and a GSG 1911 .22 for $845.25 tax and shipping included. If you on a budged like me its pretty good. Take care and have a good one.

Get a 1911, new or used. SAM or Norinco are the cheapest new. Remington R1s go for around $550 on the EE used. Then buy a GSG 22LR conversion kit for $250 new. Should stay well within your budget. Then you can start buying all the cool gear like mags, mag pouches and holsters that will really blow your budget. Then there is ammo...
