adding a mag tube extension to maverick 88

You would need an entire mag tube and different barrel. It has a nut welded to the end of it, preventing extension tube.

I think you would be better off (and cheaper) to just buy a different shotgun that is extended already.

A Maverick is a Model 500. Same aftermarket stuff. Any mag tube extender should come with the spring, but a longer spring is required.
If you opt for the M500, no aftermarket mag stuff will fit without changing the barrel, as I recall. Mag tube ring is in a different place.

How many of your 20K posts are totally wrong? This one for instance ^.... Mav88's have a steel nut welded to the end of the mag tube....

Plus, you can't add an extension to a 500 anyway. Only Mossbergs that have external threads are the 590's and 835's.

I sold my Mav88 and purchased a 500 Persuader. Cheaper in the long run.... And the way the barrel nut is made you would need to do a complete swap.

The 88 is a good inexpensive gun , but instead of spending $ trying to improve it, just buy a better gun that has more options. 590 for example.

The Maverick-88 is not designed to accept magazine tube extensions.

If you really need more capacity; You should either get a different shotgun, or add a sidewinder kit to your Maverick.

I have to admit those ten round mags look pretty cool.
