And no crimp's! I just did up about 3/4 of a 5 gallon pail full. Knocked out the primer's, wet tumbled, resized and a quick tumble to get the sizing lube off.

I have a potful of those IVI cases in 2 lot numbers, and I really like them.

Made a bunch into 303 Epps, and zero losses to splits.

Have fun! BTW, Are you loading for a Lee-Enfield?

I have no Lee-Enfields, but 2 standard 303 rifles....a P14, and a Ross M10 [My Epps is also a P14]

These are relatively easy on brass, and 500 cases would probably wear them out before they were all done, LOL.

Cheers, Dave.

...good to know...first time with IVI...and yes, for LE's...really coming to like this cartridge...planning to pull some 123 gr bullets from corrosive ammo this winter and try working up a load...any experience with this light a bullet/powder?

IVI is good brass, mediocre ammo. Have you slugged the barrel? those 123's may not be the right diameter for your rifle. Lee-Enfields can measure from .311" to .315" and still be considered ok. A .311" bullet out of a .313" + barrel won't be accurate.

I load up IVI brass, never had a seperation yet. Mind you I don't use max loads. I have discarded a few pieces here and there, but not for any serious reason. A scratch that might be a tiny crack, but not worth risking - that kind of stuff.

My favourite are gas checked 180gn RN hard cast. I have some very fun and nicely accurate loads for them (different load for a diferent gun, with the same components).

Marry a specific lot of brass to a specific LE rifle, and you should get a lot of use out of it. Nice score.

Sounds like you're planning on breaking down some 7.62x39 ammo for the bullets. Not a bad thought but I would suggest you'd be better off doing it with 7.62x54R ........ it'll be closer to a traditional Enfield load with a heavier bullet.

...i slugged both LEs...one's .313 (Mk 1) and the other .314 (Longbranch Mk4)...and i do cast and paper patch and have sizing dies for both diameters...just wondering how 123's do in .303...planning to make some 7.62 x 39 brass rounds out of pulled bullets as well...looking for a good price on x 54's now as well...think i have enough brass to last a while, especially if i am using cast tho... :)

...these days don't exist...a year ago i ordered 200 and bought 500 when our local (3 hour away) gun store over-ordered and i took them all (brit 303's)...and then i also ordered some .32 cal's (handgun) to try out and bought all of those as well (300)...all hornady's...at least they'll work for a zombie attack...i feel bad...sorry...(it's a ca-NAY-dee-en thing...sorry for that too!)

Love my IVI .303 brass. Good stuff. As is DIZ.
Having been first fired in "who knows what" chamber, they get partial FL sized, just barely enough to close bolt in the rifle they are being dedicated to. If even slightly sloppy or loose, they get an 'O' ring on the first firing. Lee collet neck die thereafter. An anneal every few firings. A light bump to the shoulder with a Redding body die if the bolt becomes noticably harder to close.
Never yet have had a case head seperation, not even after a dozen plus full power reloads. Have only tossed a few for any reason(mostly crumpled necks from my own screw-ups) over these many many years of use.

I full length size and shoot my ivi brass to destruction.

I have too many enfields to try to keep a separate lot of brass for each one.

5 to 6 reloads then you start getting seperation at the web.
