Magazine Capacity Misinformation and Confusion

Option A they would basically being making rimfire have rules more similar to center fire. I don't really see any basis or reason for this, but they don't really need it as they do whatever they feel like.

Option B seems to be the more likely with how they've worded it to you. That being said, if what you are saying is true...nothing has changed. You say "all mags mentioned"...and only the BX-25 mag is mentioned. It's a well know fact that it is prohib. No other magazines are mentioned, so no other magazines are limited. The BX-25 is marketed as a magazine that works in a pistol, so (sadly/stupidly) they are correct in that regard.

No matter what, this doesn't add up. If they changed a law in 2008 (or in 2014 for that matter), how can there be no record of it? If ignorance isn't a defense, don't we need to have access to information like this?

It's no different than officers thinking LAR15 mags were illegal. Just because someone "in power" tells you information, doesn't mean it is right.

It is in fact option B as he explained it to me, but I urge everyone reading this to use the numbers I provided and CHECK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!

You seem to be getting defensive in a few of your posts. I don't think anyone here is thinking or implying you are lying or stupid. We do however, think the people you were talking to were...
 
By the sounds of it, the tech doesn't know what he is talking about. Unless he is telling you the RCMP is contradicting what rules they've already made clear.
 
elimsprint, is it possible that by chance you were slightly high when you made this call? Just a questions, not judging or anything, just my brother in law likes to get high then gets really paranoid and, things come out of is mouth..... And he gets really defensive...... It is also possible the tech you spoke to was high as well, can't assume he wasn't....

You said, "That being said, if what you are saying is true" which implies to me that I am either lying or stupid or don't understand what is being said to me, thus my answer. Have you phoned them to see if the tech is lying or doesn't know whereof he speaks?
 
Hey all, I just called the number and explained the whole mess of misinformation being spewed on this thread. The kind tech I spoke with assured me that ONLY the bx-25 AND the mossberg 715 mags are prohib. I mentioned the butler creek brand name which she assured me are ok. This thread is a big mess and needs to be deleted before mass hysteria ensues. To the OP: the tech you spoke with is a LIAR.

So your saying butler creek magazines for ruger 10/22 have to be pinned to 10 rounds?

Easy stuff:

pistol = 10 rds (ruger BX-25 AND mossberg 715)

Not a pistol = infinite ammo capacity (ALL other NON-pistol mags)

This is rimfire magazine capacity 101.

Simple.

What a waste of time. Either you or the Tech was smoking weed, and I'm willing to bet it wasn't the tech. Next time post it in writing instead of getting everyone all fired up, wasting their own time calling the CFP.

I just called them too and basically the tech re-affirmed what you said. To aquire written confirmation:

Extension 1090 has received two calls this morning regarding this already regarding this BS.

Just got off the phone as well, the tech had no clue. She said she already received multiple calls, and said to email the email above if you want anything written.

I call BS on this.
