Here's one I picked up last winter.

Had a local stock legend :)-)) go over it. New Decellerator too.

Looks OK for a rifle that's the same age as I am. It's a 30-06.

Scope is an old 4X Redfield I found in the cabinet, post reticle too.

Very nice looking rifle Rembo, Thanks for sharing.
I don't have a 725 but I do have a couple 721s, an original 300 H&H and an '06 re-chambered to 308 Norma Mag.... both tackdrivers.

With the classic W...........I............D............E.............ocular lens tew.

Sooooooooooo full of Fuddnyness it's charming.............:runaway:

Yup, sure do. I have one that has been rebarrelled with a heavy target-style barrel in 30-06. At 11lb it's not a carry rifle but very accurate as a bench gun. Most of my Rems are 721's and 722's, as homely as they are I'll opt for them any day over the new mfg 700's.

I think the 725 is a worked over Mod. 30 and that is the civilian version of the M 1917 Enfield, one of my favorites.
I've had a Mod. 30 Express in 35 Whelen since long before my hair turned grey....

You're thinking of the Model 720.

The 725 could be described as a 721 with an M17/P14 Enfield style 3 position safety, a hinged floor plate, a thinner 22" barrel in standard chamberings and a different stock.

I've heard it described as Remington's answer to the Model 70 Featherweight and I think that's quite accurate. I have had at last count 6 different Pre'64 Fwts, currently down to one and they have a very similar feel and balance.
