While I haven't owned one yet, I love everything about them on paper. I will add one someday or a Ruger No.1 RSI 7x57.
Lovely cartridge to shoot, especially if looking for accuracy out 300 odd meters. plenty enough Gun for most Deer and I wouldn't hesitate if I had a 7-08 an a bull elk walked out of the bushline at 250m! of course id have a nice stout projectile loaded.

I really do hope you would hesitate..the 708 is NOT a 250M elk cartridge...where does the 308 , 30-06 , 7 RM come into play here ...help
I like the 7mm-08 as well. I've owned a few of them.
However, I sold my last 7mm-08 on Sunday .. so now I'm not sure what to do.
Should I buy another 7mm-08 .. (e.g. a Kimber Montana M84) ?
Or, instead, should I replace it with a .25-06 .. (e.g. L84) ?
Hmmm ... decisions, decisions.
Ah, you don't need any newfangled 7mm-08. Get ya self a rifle chambered in 7x57mm Mauser (.275 Rigby). Tried & true and short action be damned.
