So what will be your next black rifle purchase?

2nd on this

3rd. I've been wanting one of these and an Uzi. Already warned the wife that if things change those two guns will be on order immediately.

Regardless though, I'm digging the bullpups, so if not an Aug, maybe a tavor?

Ben

Edited to add - an AR10 build would be fun too, and maybe another AR15 build? A precision build would be pretty fun... Too many guns to build...

I'm bored so i thought i would create a thread. The title says it all. What will be your next black rifle purchase?

My next black rifle purchase will be a Beretta ARX 100 in non restricted form. I have a long wait ahead of me.

^^I'm waiting for the transfer for my 'new-to-me' DPMS AR-15 (one of the Dirty Ugandans from IRG! :)) ....my postman is now holding a higher spot on my list than Santa!

Is that possible they might go banka-rupta? If so, why bother buying if there's potentially no or very difficult customer service? It's a nice rifle, but what if....

Common discussion on HK Pro. HK has not said anything. It's all just speculation. They have eaten a number of costly blows in the last 20 years. Cancelation of the G11 after exhaustive R&D. Cancelation of the XM8 after exhaustive R&D. Cancelation of the OICW. Cancelation of future G36 sales to the German military after poor performance in the sandbox. These kind of things add up to us scratching our head and wondering why HK products are so expensive. Expensive is often why civilians don't buy HK products. Vicious circle. Add a couple sales of HK to BAE and Marconi and strong stock drops in value after the SA80 update ended and poor sales of the M4 platforms they now make (no big government sales) It all adds up to bad things from a business point of view. What do you think cancelling a 22 year project like the G11 does to a company? Don't get me wrong. I love HK firearms. I have $9K invested in them, but as much as I want an Hk 243 I am not holding my breath.

The really depressing thing is it isn't there fault. It is just one stab in the guts after another from various governments. Mainly the US.

HK is far from dying. The MG5 and MG4 contracts to replace MG3 in Germany will give them more than enough work for the years to come. They are also pumping out pistols and there are enough German and European PD contracts to go after.

Germany is knee deep into G36, it is not going anywhere. If they need any improvement or replacement, it will be HK's job anyways. In the special forces market, nothing can compete against the HK416 and 417 , especially in the EU.

And the French solicitation is really a race between HK 416/G36 ( the reason of the new rail as seen in HK243) and FN SCAR anyways since the French wants no bullpup no more. That is 90K units there over 5 years.

If I have to bet, Swiss arms ( not sig sauer ) will be the first to go under if the swiss government does not prop them up to maintain the capability.

Your knowledge of firearms and the international industry makes me feel inadequate.... Stop it!
