Never thought I would see the day that Black Powder was easier to find than Smokeless but such is the situation.
I have been attempting to find some Unique for a long time....nothing.
Anyone else having problems finding pistol powder?

Yes. I just started getting prepped to do pistol and found the same. Titegroup is available. Wa able to get a bunch of AA#4 as part of a deal with a press fortunately. If anyone here is really desperate, I'll part with a lb of that. I'm in the GTA. I'm happy to hoard but I don't shoot much pistol so if you were local you could get a pound from me at retail price.

Just about everybody. I've been waiting over a year for W231. And it's not much better in the US (not that we can bring it in anyway.) I just checked Midway; of 179 items under "Powders", 21 are in stock. Sucks big time. Apparently the mfrs. are working full out, too. With Homeland Security ordering 6bn rounds of ammo (or so I've read), it's no wonder the rest of the shooting world is shut out.

Yup same here. I only have 1lb of Tightgroup and have found a good set-up for now.
I'm tired of getting an over-the-counter perspective of America's present day dilemma when I shop.
If I find 5lbs of Vihtavuori, I'll pay the extra money for the good stuff and even more to not have to deal with H:S:

You need to buy in quantity when it's available instead of waiting until you are almost out.
I only have 5 years supply of Unique left - time to start looking for more.

I kinda think along the same lines as you do as well.Been stung a couple of times in the past for components and I swore to never let it happen again.I don't go nuts everytime I'm in a gunshop but I always check out the available stock of powder, bullets and primers and there are very few times I don't come out with something for the larder.

Did someone say Titegroup and Available in the same sentence?

Months ago a store here had a single pound and a single keg of it. I regret that I didn't buy the pound...

Trying to recall where I found it. Think it was Williams Arms in Port Perry, On. Since the I came by several pounds of AA #4 in a press purchase package.

How long do these powders keep btw?

I could have sworn I saw Titegroup at Cabelas in Winnipeg about a month ago... I have lots left so I didn't really give it a second look.

...Also, just finished listening to an interview from Chris Hodgdon on youtube. Seems the powder shortage is throughout Canada and the US but he did recommend some alternatives....

He says that their business is aimed strictly at the handloader and OEM, not the government, they are running full out and that there is "going to be a new normal." Oh joy. Presumably Alliant does have govt. contracts in addition to consumer sales, so that puts their supply in an even worse position.

Cabela's north Edmonton was showing it in stock when I was there Friday night.

So obviously the cabelas online wish/backorder list doesn't mean much. I've been on it awhile...

To some of the posters above: 8 pounds? Lol. I've got thru most of a keg since February, loading for 3 ppl in the family.

And powder, if stored properly, will last decades. I've still got Alliant cardboard tin stuff that's good

Jo brook in Brandon has a pile of Varget, and a good selection of medium to slow rifle powders, just no pistol stuff.

Zero Titegroup. :(

Walter Hornby had Titegroup recently while there was a limit of 8lb per person. I got some as well as a couple of my buddies.
Ping him.

What do you guys usually get quoted for shipping on powder?

Lawry's quoted me $110 shipping on anything 5 lbs and under, which seems a tad excessive.

Also Lawry's has terrible email communication, so beware there
