Not getting positive clicks on AR safety

Hi guys. Not getting positive clicks on my safety. It's a blue line lower with stag LPK. Safety functions and passes safety checks. Just no clicks. Moves smooth. But don't snap into place and can be moved kinda easy. Seems like it only goes about 90% to safe but all the way to fire. Here's a pic of the safety

 
Did you lose the plunger? You might pinch the spring while putting back the handle? Remove the handle and check if the spring and plunger are in good shape. If not replace and careful when you put back the handle.
Lube it with grease.
 
My guess is something with the plunger or spring. Stag makes great parts but anything is possible. Use this as an excuse to but a Battle arms ambi selector on. They are sweet!
 
Not sure... I can only suggest to check the plunger, spring and the make sure the channel in the lower is not gummed up. Pull your trigger as well and make sure everything is in place.

How long has it been doing this? Did you make any changes to the rifle lately? I had a grip bolt that was too long once and it messed with the safety.
 
I've had it apart half dozen times tonight. Plunger seemed a little rough around the edge. Smoothed it up. Didn't help.
No difference with grip screw out.
I even watched a couple YouTube vids before posting tonight. Just to make sure I wasn't forgetting something.
I guess I'll have to order a new safety, plunger and spring and try that?
Should I strip lower and reinstall everything?
Gun functions perfectly otherwise
 
You try to see if the safety moves up more without the spring/plunger? All that does is apply pressure so it doesn't switch easy. If it does, sounds like the cuts are off, it it doesn't sounds like a sear/safety engagement issue.
 
I had a very similar problem with my Bushmaster LPK in an Aero lower, Fire would click into place and engage but "safe" was mushy and had play between 90-100%. The problem was the switch. Ordered a low-pro ambi selector from OST and it's fine now.
 
That selector looks bizarre. Is it an illusion due to the lighting, or the screw in the background? Show us some more pictures of that thing with brighter lighting and different angles.

The screw is propping up the selector switch bro, time for bed
 
I had the same problem with my Blue Line lower and a CMMG LPK. Replaced the safety selector, plunger and spring with a High Standard selector and voila.... Never had the problem again...
 
Pull the grip off and support the spring and plunger with your finger. You'll get a better feel of what's happening.
Does the switch rotate fully, without the plunger?
Does it rotate, with less tension on the spring?

Check for burrs, in the channel between the two detent pockets. Specifically, right where the plunger should drop in the "safe" pocket.
 
Well I went digging in my parts bins looking for a safety selector. Thought I had one there somewhere. Hadn't seen it though in a year and a half. After looking through all of them I found one. Lol. Swapped it out and all is good now. :)

I'm going to see what the difference is maybe I can make the new one work. Like 9x19p said there might be burrs in the channel. I'm going to give the channel a little polish with some 400 grit sandpaper.
