I was wondering if anyone had similar problem or knows how to resolve it. I got a kimber stainless gold match ii, still with-in the "break-in period" but occasionally the casing will not eject at all, however when i go to clear the the "jam" it falls out real easy no pressure is required to get it out. Even when it does eject it doesn't throw them as far as i'd figure it should and sometimes into my head. Is this an extractor issue? and should it be replaced or just tuned? and could the factory mags be to blame as well? any info would be appreciated. thanks

yeah, i tightened the tension on the extractor and it made no positive change. Tried a bunch of different quality ammo's and same thing with all of them. its always clean and lubed.

Seems like the slide doesn't go all the way back when the gun is fired so the case doesn't hit the ejector and is re-chambered. A lighter spring may be in order or clip a loop or two.

Factory. primarily winchester, but have also used blazer, american eagle, s&b, and barnaul. Although it does like some better than others none run flawlessly.

You have tried different brands of ammo; have you tried a different brand of magazine? Also, I wouldn't go clipping springs willy-nilly. What was the # of the factory spring and what is it now that you have clipped off two coils? You don't know. You can purchase "calibration" packs of recoil springs from Wolff Gun springs. I would borrow some mags from people you know or even other people at your range. Most shooters are willing to help out a fellow gun owner.

Edit: 5" 1911 9mm have a #10 to #12 recoil spring. From STI, Wilson Combat & Armscor sites.
BTW, I just happen to have a new #12 spring for sale. ;)
