Ill be heading out with a few of the guys in the next month for moose, elk and deer all in one go. Nothing to complain woohoo right?

Now here's my dilemma... which hunting rifle should i bring?

I recently acquired a Savage 300 WM in stainless from my dad for taking out moose. I also just purchased a Marlin 1895 GBL which i plan on scoping. Based on the overall length, I'm leaning towards the Marlin.

Thoughts?

PS. Before someone say take both, i've tried in the past and only one tends to get used :/

we'll im also planning on bringing a shotgun and 22lr for some fun in the boonies. Im kinda feeling like if its not being used, i should just leave it behind.

Unless weight is a major consideration take both or buy a third gun chambered the same as one of the other 2 and take both chambered a like guns, that way you only need one type of amunition

Always take a backup rifle. I've had scope malfuntions on a trip and without a backup your hooped. I bring a .308 and a 300wsm, I also bring a 20ga for a truck chicken gun and a 12ga for a camp gun.

If I were heading to a full-blown camp, where every pound wasn't carried in on a pack, I'd take a backup rifle for sure. That is unless you're severely limited by the total weight of your load? (Think fly-in scenario...)
